Tuning Elevation vs tuning question

Noobie question here:

If I buy a gun from Utah or Arizona and they “tune” it, and it ships to New York, will the difference of elevation affect the tune? The air is less dense at higher altitude. I’m sure Arizona is much less humid than NY as well. Just curious if elevation matters.

The difference in elevation will affect it. Will it matter? Probably not.

Depends on whether you’re talking about a springer or a pcp. PCP, not affected much by elevation. Springers are drastically affected. I have two homes in Colorado. One is at 5,200 feet in elevation and the other is at 9,850 feet in elevation. I’ve shot airguns at each for decades. This isn’t theory.

If you are on a budget then the single shot Benjamin Maximus (this ones only 2000psi fill that's easy peasy to pump with a $35 hand pump) or a DAR Gen2 or Gamo Urban (only if Palammetto State Armory still has them for $229) then a Yong Heng.

The Hatsan Flash Especially in 177 when cranked down only needs 2000psi and easily hand pump friendly too and at 17fpe at it's minimum power setting it's definitely no slouch and relatively quiet.

Centerpoint 3-12x44 PLT BDC 30mm from Wal-Mart online $104 or almost half that price at Field Supply refurbished or Alpha6 4.5-27x50 from EBay $229 shipped. You would really be surprised what you can actually get for such little money spent compared to most popular brands of scopes that cost a lot more money.

I would think when using the throw away Chinese self contained portable type compressors could probably last a while when only filling to 2000psi. JMO!!!

Yes, you are right they would last. Change the compressor oil often and they last a long time, even going up to 4500psi regularly. I've got over 10 hours on mine, easy. That sub $300.00 compressor is priceless.
