Epic Epic Airguns Two arrived

yeah buying a powerful FAC .177 rifle, is kinda a irony in itself,,,,, and you probably also need a good sense of humor.
It do not take a whole lot to shoot good speeds with heavy stuff, though i have seen some go to +150 BAR, which i just find insane.

It do seem like heavy stuff have been around for a while to the .177 caliber, even before the big brand companies started to cater to that too.
I work daily trying to forget the heavy stuff, also partly why i have only been shooting 10 and 13 grain slugs lately

Still. I give thanks to the ones that make FAC .177 rifles, CUZ just imagine being tied to Sub 12,,,,,, which i have no doubt Danes also will be sooner or later.
The recent public air soft shooting, at first was touted by press as air rifle shooting, CUZ agenda = Danes will have NOTHING.

No i can not say i have noticed something like that, i have tried a lot of ammo going back and forth, but once on the ball with one of them i cant say POI have been moving.
Or yes it have but not more than i will chalk up to the wind playing with me, so if i have made a single click adjustment on the scope, it is not uncommon that in a few shots i have to click back to where i was.

If / when i am missing i prefer that to be to the right and up, so when my shots start to be biased towards Left and / or down, that is when i make a adjustment

I had my barrel apart 1 time, and put it back together without torque wrench

Okay i have gotten on with the new nest for the Two, it is now flipped 180 degrees and have the scope facing down.
Still a very small case i have for it, so still had to cut some corners or at least one corner.
But this new foam A LOT better then the pick styrofoam which was already falling apart.

Still need to make a few cuts in it for stuff, but i have to source a larger cannister as the 4 X 18650 battery case i have used is too small.

That's why you probably do not have Poi shift, I'm experimenting with very light torque by hand and it appears to be much more solid POI

When i put a moderator on it is also very light, though often when i take it off, it is like OKAY so you used the rotational force of the planet to get this on.

I find it very hard to tell if i am at the sweet spot CUZ i always have sone wind, it is rare it is only very little wind.
But i do feel best when things want to group in one place VS the often erratic pattern i see, and especially so when i am not paying attention to the wind flags.

I would give my left foot for a indoor 100 M range, then i would only come out of it to order more ammo.

Now that i am here, i have made the last few cuts in the case foam.
I am now carrying the full compliment of spares for the Two, and i also had to make a EMG repair on Friday.
Also the charge cable for the Sekmet gauge are in the spare box

CUZ i have been having some valve leak issues, which i think are founded in dirt in the valve assist close feature.
First time the rifle leaked A LOT, but a subsequent shot made it stop and be fine for many many more 100 shots

But lately i have a small leak after a shot, and though if i let the rifle sit for a few minutes it will close i can of course not wait for that, so having tried a little of this and a little of that and both, well i am about out of O rings for the valve.
The valve seat itself ASO, look brand spanking new on both of my valves, so i do not think that is the issue.
Not least the " bounce" O-ring on the valve ( 5 X 1.75 i think it is ) that one get destroyed on my rifle, like parts of it " missing "
Also changed the 6 X 1.5 O-ring in the valve assist part, and also the outer 10 mm O-rings

Anyway Friday after a few 100 shots the leak came back, so took apart rifle, and put the valve stem part from the spare valve in the valve in the rifle.
And it still leaked, but it did stop and work 100 % for the following 1000 or so shots, and still do.

So i am in search of O-rings for the valve part, from the outer 10 mm ones down to the the small 3 mm one on the valve stem itself.

Also taking out the epic regulator,,,, i seem to have ruined the main " body " of it, so it will not seal any more, so on the lookout for that spare brass part too

Mind you i do have a full spare Huma regulator and O-ringe galore for the Huma regulators.
Just Epic REG can go to a lower pressure ( 60 BAR VS 40 ) and i would like to try that shooting pellets, which with 60 BAR on the Huma REG is just about doable backing wayyyyy off on the hammer.

FIY, i am several 10.000 shots into the Two, so it is getting used alright :)
2 X a week about 1000 shots every time, but over summer that have often been 2 X 2 days over the summer and then a trip to the range is easy 2000 shots. and doing that 2 times a week, well add up.

Funny addendum.

Ordering some at Krale, not least pellets, and if there is slugs in the parcel it go into customs for about 1 hour and then is back on track.
But not my last parcel with 2 tins of 10 gr KO MK3 slugs in it, went into customs Thursday and it is still there
containing 8 tins of various 4.5 mm pellets and then the 2 tins of small JSB slugs.

It is fortunate the 10 boxes of Zan slugs i order at the factory do not suffer the same, or i would be ammo starved like a Russian and constantly waiting for customs, but from over there, no slugs ever gone into customs, and i have been ordering 10 boxes at least every month for a while.

Actually my 2 mini ALU flight cases that use to be my ammo box,,,,, well too small, and i now have ammo in the Zan cardboard boxes the ammo come in and which house 20 boxes in each.

Also though expected due to Brexit, have valve / charge kit and a few fittings for my M8 stuck in customs too since Friday, but as soon as o pay the gangster ( Danish tax authorities ) my gear is released on Monday.

Leaking valve on the Two.

And just to be sure, both of the valves i have have now pulled this on me, it is sadly not just the one of them

The one, the surface on the jet where the O-ring seal off the assist close chamber, it have some irregular wear marks on it, but it is that very valve stem / central part that is in the rifle right now and working.
The other valve in the same part, smooth and no single hint of a wear mark on that jet,,,,, and it have also shot many 1000 shots now.

Okay i am now more or less out of contention with the Two, my spare O-rings are used up, and i am perplexed as to why i am loosing air thru the barrel.

Video of the valves.
In short.
One valve / jet harder to blow thru than the other one, even after high pressure blowing backwards thru jet / valve to remove any potential dirt in there. ( i dont think there was any )
No apparent way to remove the exchangeable jet, as demonstrated in Epic video named " revealing the treasures inside "
Uneven wear marks on sealing surface on jet on most used valve
A scratch on the spare jet / valve stem / valve part
Replaces all pressur seal O-rings but small one sealing on valve stem as valve not leaking out backwards
Bump stop O-ringe on Jet, have been molested 2 times, as in parts of it missing / chopped off, this must see some action

I can rebuild valve, and fill rifle and having it sitting holding pressure for days, then go shooting and in a few 100 shots get a slow leak out the barrel ( first time a big leak, but a subsequent shot made it seal again for many many 100 shots after that )
Or i can shoot and not really feel / hear anything but at home rifle will loose all presure in 24 hours, after a complete valve rebuild and working seal.

I am inclined to think it is the wear on the jet seal surface that is doing me in, meaning a new O.ring will seal but then shooting a little the " rough " wear on surface ruin O.-ring in valve adjuster.

Video of valve developed a slow leak thru barrel at the range.

Talking / mailing to Wolfeik group in Spain where i got the rifle, also Epic them self, but unlike my barrel issue now it is a bit like i am on ignore.

The sealing surface on the Jet do seem OK to start with though, my last job aside for the tolerances on the stuff i made on my grinding machine #2 was surface roughness CUZ it was sealing surfaces for oil seals, and of course size wise size for the bearings to fit properly.
so i checked surface roughness about 40 times a day.

But with the wear marks i am seeing i am a bit confused, the design itself do seem to be valid so how that much wear get there is a bit confusing to me

I dont really have the means to resurface the Jets, it would probably also mean i would have to get the O-ring that seal there in a over size

I rebuild or should i say had the valve apart again yesterday to blow it backwards with high pressure air in case there was dirt in the jet, and the rifle is also holding the just shy of 200 bar i put in it yesterday, but it also did that with 290 BAR before my previous trip to the range, and still when i came home and 24 hours after the rifle was at 0 BAR

Mailed David who i talked with in regard to the barrel, also used the contact formular / box on their home page, but no replies so far

Mathias i talk to at Wolfeik group in Spain, he did reply and talked about seeing if he could find some O-ringe for me.

I have found a source for O-rings here, though not all of them, also i had to order BIG or lets say way more than a happy go lucky air gunner should ever need of O-rings for just 1 rifle.
I am about to go pick those up now.

Is that an ED or HD Discovery? Love the HD 5-30 I have. Nice rig you have set up right there.

Talked ( mail ) with my contact at Epic, there are no bad reason for a delay in communication.
A new valve are going out to me today.

Oneleaf NV500 scope out for delivery.
Best fittings parts i paid duty ASO on last Thursday or was it Wednesday,,,,, still no movement on tracking #
Ammo from Krale still stuck in customs, or rather with the time it have taken them i think it might well be in the even slower polices hands now, there is NOTHING illegal in the parcel.
I am going to order the exact same at Krale later today, CUZ,,,,,, F incompetent government employees.

Winds expected tomorrow ( pellet weather ) AVG winds 1.3 MPH, Gusts 4.4 MPH, clear blue skies, going lead slinging

Hi buddy, where did you get the rifle case foam from ?
