I finally received the Epic two I ordered many weeks ago but with some issues. There are too many to really get into that I'm addressing one at a time, but the one that is really sticking out is the regulator. This isn't the stock regulator as after about a week of no shipping information the seller told me that the stock Epic reg leaked and they just put a Huma raptor in there instead of the stock one to fix the issue., didn't bother to let me know so my call revealed the issue, to me anyway, just a little late.
Well... By the title of the thread you can assume I'm having major issues or I wouldn't ask.
The thing creeps like only a regulator that doesn't regulate can.
The shot strings are like a steep hill with about 100 fps over 11 shots. I've been over almost everything (HS, pressure etc) like every other regulated airgun I've owned but it seems the regulator internals are messed up so I purchased a repair kit.
My question is this.. I haven't touched the valve which I know is adjustable. And although I ordered a .22 the thing came with a .25 printed block and the explanation was basically they are built to order and I guess no .22 blocks existed.
The vendor said the valve was set to .22 power but the reg was set to 150 when I got it and I'm wondering if a mis adjusted valve could cause what seems to be a reg issue? I'm prepared to rebuild the regulator but guess I'll likely need help understanding the valve if that is the actual problem. Thanks ahead for any help and I'm not angry with the vendor as I'm sure they have tons of business and things get messed up with humans every day as nobody but you know who is perfect (look up) :)

I had a huma reg that I purchased from huma do a similar issue. As the pressure in the tank dropped the velocity rose like 100fps and then would go back down. I found out the reg was lower than the lowest setting it should have been by at least a full revulation. Once set correctly zero issues. Maybe the reg is out side of its working range. But that was my experience.

I've tried it from 90-145 bar and everything in between with HS adjustments up and down as I went. I've never had a Huma do this.. Even though it's a .22 it was set to 150 bar when I got it and was tossing pellets way to fast, almost supersonic.

So, this is a new gun recently purchased from some vendor? With these kinds of issues and the lack of communication from the vendor you purchased through I would consider returning the rifle. You could also try working with Epic Airguns directly.

I just received my Epic Two on Christmas Eve after a long wait for it to clear UPS delivery issues in Europe and Customs. I will be following along with your exploits to learn and see how you are treated by the vendor. Which vendor did you purchase through?

Have you seen the tuning video from Epic ?

I am also running a Huma regulator and have not had any issues with it, well other than adjusting it, but after i got the tool for that it is no longer a issue.

PS. my factory regulator is also leaking, but that is me removing it with a ill suited tool and so damaging it however minutely, so need a new brass lock nut ( issue the 4 holes in it very close to center hole, and so i dented that thin wall and that was it for me )

I want to be able to run factory REG CUZ i understand it can regulate lower than the low of 56 BAR on the Huma regulator.

My issues ( choked LW barrel and some valve woes ) have been treated very well by epic airguns

I am many 10,000 shots into the Two by now, i recon come late April when it is 1 year old i will be over 50,000 shots into it

My reg is set to 80 BAR shooting 13 grain Zans, and i am about to get out the door to shoot, even if it is foggy here and i might not be able to see the far corner of the field / range.
10 grain slugs and 13.4 grain pellets i shoot at 60 BAR ( .177 / 700 mm )

Yes that was the video I watched when I started the tune as I figured they knew how to tune their own pcps.. Very impressive results on the video. I just think there's a problem with that Huma Raptor I got with it.

Yeah it might be bad or assembled wrong, though having managed that myself i dont think it is hard.

There is also the issue of people turning the part the reg sit in backwards, but as i recall that result in a not at all functioning regulator, though i can not recall if it then dont regulate at all or dont let any air past it.

I have a spare Huma regulator i can take a look at though i cant say what i would be looking for, there is the little plastic disk that do need to be turned in one particular way, maybe that is the problem ?

I wondered about the regulator housing being backwards myself but haven't checked. They didn't send any of the Huma supplied parts that you usually get with a Huma regulator, or I would have already started trying to work on it.

Yes just spare disk for these valves so i have +1 of those and then some as i have also gotten a repair / rebuild kit just to be on the safe side

NEVER go down on hardware :)

My entire spare parts kit that follow my Two rifle, included the charge cable for the sekmet gauge on the regulated pressure.
I do need to replace some O-rings i have already used, primarily during my valve woes and then i have just replaced the front O-ring on the fill probe as it somehow gotten damaged, so ATM i just leave it in the rifle permanently as i shoot tethered anyway.

BTW the Huma regulator install and adjust tool, it is a MUST HAVE with these regulators, adjusting it without is a huge pain.

Mine use to follow the rifle in the case ( Green Circle ) But i have now moved to a location on the folding stock ( red circle ) CUZ i have at times forgotten it in the case, so now i do not have to get up to get it in the case at the other end of the shot shed.

Where did you get the reg adjusting tool? I ordered the install tool but have been using a 17mm spanner carefully so far. Oh never mind. The install tool I ordered has the 17mm on the opposite end it seems. That will make it easier to adjust it seems. But I think the refresh times for some of the Huma regs leave a lot to be desired from my experience. I would like to just go with the stock regulator if I had my choice.
Also.. With the cocking lever on the left I realize the folding stock won't close as the lever is in the way. I wish Epic had thought of that as an issue. I can still fold it but it doesn't lock and I always have the lever on the left if possible.

Yes the tool is install and adjust tool all in one, though the install as depicted can be handled with a coin, and i also did just that at the time.
I got a Huma reg for my maverick, the #2 one, but i have to admit it soon left my maverick again.
But this one on the Two give me good vibes.

I still want to be able to run the factory REG too for the even lower pressures it allow for, but i do not want to swap regulators all the time so i want the pipe piece the reg sit in, so i can swap that piece when i want to, air loss not a big deal after i got my own big boy compressor.
