Hi all,
my Epoch has a slow leak since day one (I bought it new in august 2023)
It never leaked so bad that it would affect shooting but it did bother me to pick it up completely empty of air when stored for a few days
Since it's cold outside and I had some spare time, I've decided to reseal both regs
Resealing these regs is a bit more complicated than on other air rifles since o-ring grooves are quite deep and good plastic and brass picks are a must here, SK-OU9009 being probably most complicated to get out and put the new one in.
I did the HPR first and after putting it back in it's place and repressurising the bottle to about 3000 PSI, I wanted to set it up to about 1700 PSI which was factory setting for 25" barrel.
It bottomed out at around 1460 PSI
Last year I have changed HPR and LPR pressure gauges to digital so numbers are quite precise.
I didn't loose any of the spacers, didn't change any springs, everything assembled easily, no cross threading, everything sits perfectly in its place.
Bottle valve is fully opened.
I shot a few dry shots thinking that maybe it needs to settle, nothing.
Refilled to about 3500 PSI, still the same
HPR adjustment knob is turned all the way in and pressure won't move above 1460 PSI
It doesn't leak. I worked on it for at least an hour trying to determine what's wrong and it stayed at 1460 PSI the whole time.
Can anyone offer some guidance on what's going on and what should I check?
I'm loosing my mind here trying to figure it out without any success so far and no idea on what to check and do next.
Thank you!
Regards,
Walt
