EVOL .22 Mini

Huge fan of the AAA Evols. Just an awesome shoot straight out of the box product.
I own the Mini .22 and the PRS .30.
Ready to buy a .357 Slayer, and would therefore, love to talk or email with Tom to glean a bit more info that I need.
Sent him a PM here on AGN, so hopefully he will respond :)

I'll probably be laughed out of the room but would something like the Hera Arms thumbhole stock fit on it if it's an AR compliant piece? Also, I really like cocking guns from the left even though I shoot right. Do they make a left side version and would you be able to cycle it without smacking yourself in the face for the trouble?
You should be able to mount almost any AR15 stock (fixed or collapsible) and pistol grip on it. In regards to left hand cocking versions, yes, they do make them. Look at the top of Page 3 of this thread, Post #41. My EVOL Mini is a right hand version and I just tried cocking it while shouldering it on my left side. No, it won't smack you in the face. There's a lot of clearance.

Yeah, you need to be careful though. There's apparently two "tube" designs. One full round and one with a "square" section on the bottom. I bought a nice pepper wood stock to try. But it needs a full only round tube. I may buy a cheap stock with the round tube to make it usable...not sure.
Added a different grip, stock and a Huma M40 (two segment) suppressor. That's a Holosun H530 G dot sight.
Solid, comfortable, not too loud (now) great to shoot.

Here's mine new Mini -

Can someone give a comparison between the 15” .22 Evol and the mini? I’m having a hard time finding specs for the full-size online.
I think AoA has some good specs listed.
Mini: https://www.airgunsofarizona.com/precharged-pcp/american-air-arms-evol-mini-.22/#tab-2
15": https://www.airgunsofarizona.com/precharged-pcp/american-air-arms-evol-.22-15-inch/#tab-2

I wonder about slugs though. I know I've seen videos of Dana shooting Howlers with the 15" out quite far, but I recall trying slugs in my Mini and had no luck at all.

The 10" puts out 30 fpe and the Standard 15" makes about 43fpe. Both can be configured to make more power but these are how they will come from the factory. Both can shoot slugs but the standard version shoots them much better out of the box without adjustment.

Yeah, it seemed to me that the differences between the Mini and the 15" weren't all that great. O.K., maybe half again as many shots per fill and some more available power on the 15" barreled version, for the increase in length and weight of the gun.

What was more interesting to me above and beyond my Mini was maybe the .22 HPS model (still being made?). Seems like it would be much lighter and more field-ready as compared to my Paradigm, with the same power and higher shot count.

These guns are purpose built, the mini is designed as an all around carry small game/backyard type gun. I use mine specifically for squirrel hunting at around 60 yards. My standard version is longer, has more power and capable of moving out to 150 yards fairly easy with the 20gr slugs. The HPS is a longer more hotrod version of the standard purpose built for slugs. Nothing wrong with making small adjustments but I do notice a fad of people trying to turn purpose built guns into something they were never designed to be. I enjoy these guns because they have been really durable over many others I've used and consistently shoot really well regardless of my abuse. Simply put they are built serious and not like toys.

Nice setup! What new hammer system are you referring to?

Wonderful upgrades Dillon! How do you like the Ergo Zero angle grip? I have an MKM on mine that I like but would like to maybe try a different zero angle grip....
I love the ergo. It's a thicker grip with palm swells and rubberized. Fits my hand much better than a standard grip. I found I preferred a rubberized grip over a polymer/plastic/3D printed grip as well. I just looked into the MKM but I do like the looks of the Precision Vertical Crossover grip.

Thank you Dillon! I have medium hands so the Ergo might be a tad thick for me....the MKM V Crossover is thinner towards the top along with a palm swell fits me. I still may purchase one as they are not pricey. Thanks...enjoy the rest of the weekend!
