I was getting ready for range day tomorrow and i quickly realized. My Atlas Super CAL isn't locking the CANT. I got the lever to where it's super tight but it CANTs fairly easy with light pressure. Anyone ever have this issue with any Atlas Bipod?
It may be "worn in" and the adjustment screw stud may need attention. It is not the same model as mine, as I've got the original design of Atlas bipods with the tension wheel screw on the bottom. But what I do to them may help... Before using them out if the box I will take them apart and check for and clean up any machining burrs and then "bed in" the swivel and cup mating surfaces with gritty valve lapping compound. After everything operates smooth and is cleaned up I put Vibra-Tite VC3 or Loctite on the threads so they don't come loose after I set my desired tension. I don't want the swivel to be locked up tight so I can rotate the rifle to level the scope's bubble, but it has a good amount of tension on it.I was getting ready for range day tomorrow and i quickly realized. Yes i got it brand new. I got ahold of Eurooptics they're sending me a new one.Did you get yours new? Was it tight before and just suddenly lost tension? I have an Atlas CAL BT65-LW17. If you put a lot of pressure on the cant, it will defeat it but not with light pressure. I would think that the Super CAL would be more sturdy. One thing for sure is that my ACCU-TAC BR-4 G2 and WB-4 are more rock solid in regards to cant. Maybe contact Accu-Shot/Atlas bipods in regards to warranty.
