I did try the 50 grain JSB pellets, and the 44s outshot them at 50, so I did not test the 50s beyond that range.
The FX Hybrids hit approximately 1.5 inches lower and .5 inch left from my pellet zero and are just as accurate at 50.

So i ended up going with boxes of slugs. NSA 49.5, 54.5 and Zan 49 and 54 grains. Let's see what results i get.

I had Varmint Knockers message me with offerings in his slugs; but next time i forsure will run his 50 grains. Also some FX hybrids if i can find them.

I may have given up on slugs in my Magnon too quickly. Spent an hour at the range today and these are my best groups. All are 5 shots at 50 yards. The FX 44 caliber Hybrids shot a great group but with a flyer. The 50 Nielsons were awesome. The 55 grouped about an inch. I shot 50 and 55 ZAN slugs and they scattered. Going to order some Nielsons in 45.

Great results. id imagine with tuning you can stabilize the heavier slugs as Tom mentioned.

The reason that I keep the scope close to the barrel is that it drastically changes the hold over/under. The amount is not as much from zero as if a scope was mounted higher. As far as pellets the JSB are 44 grain for the JSB and the Vortex Strike pellets are 48.
