Evol mini and some scientific shooting done today.

Got some shooting in today to prove the repeatability of the @americanairarmsofficial Evol Mini .22 !!! Along with how well I can shoot off the cuff at any moment, still got more practice to do.

This shooting was done in a little over a half hour. Each group is 1 mag, there is no cherry picking here,

5 groups at each distance.
1 mag on each target.
Phone calls incoming.
Uneven shooting table. (collapsible table suggestions welcome)
Weird winds.
A large cup of coffee at 430 pm.

This rifle is my all time favorite air rifle I have ever owned hands down. It has surpassed my love of Taipans and Hubens with ease. It's a masterpiece. A work of art. A surgical tool.

And that is why after some moving around I struck a deal on a .22 Evol HPS today.

Next one in line is going to be a new .30 Evol Paradigm in beautiful walnut setup for 100 yard bench rest.

Guess I better strip some more superduty trucks and make some more moves to get that one in my hands.

Nicely done. Those are some realistic groups and a test of endurance. Were you shooting tethered? One thing about the Evols is that they are expensive but I'm seeing owners having more than 1 or more.
Not tethered but I keep the bottle on the table to try n keep it planted, that table might as well be a rocking chair lol.

And thank you, I figure shooting the groups like this along with showing the whole board gets the idea across that the rifle is very repeatable. I was certainly getting a bit fatigued around the 3rd from last group , caught myself checking my fundamentals a few times.

My biggest thing with this rifle is its first shot accuracy, it's always in the kill zone. Always.

This was recommended to us years ago on the forum and has proven to be a pretty sturdy folding table. The only thing that could use attention to the model is a set of "feet" attached under the connecting rails by the handles in the middle of the table for even more stability. There's a little flex there when putting weight on the table.

Are the fabric covers removable easily? Even though I asked for collapsible I leave mine outside, my home is quite small so I try to avoid clutter. This looks incredibly comfortable!

I don't think that it would be easy to take off the top covering and integrated padding, but anything manufactured can be taken apart. It is heavy duty canvas and well put together, but not made for sitting outside in the elements. It folds up a little longer and thicker than a card table, but narrow, so it stores in a closet easily.

Everybody has different needs and what works for them. For the wife and I the Birchwood Casey benches (I bought 2) were not very good at all. The seat is very low so I had to drill another hole in the post to get the seat to where it was comfortable for us. The top was waaay to short in length to use a bipod up front and a rear bag in back. I made 2 tops out of plywood and used clamps to hold it to the top. This way we could take the clamps off and still fold up the table and store it easily.

When it was opened and resting on the ground (dirt) it wasn't very steady. If we used a stepping stone under the legs it was better, but still not good. It is not a bench for precision shooting at all, but if you are looking for something to fold up and travel with it might work for you, but you might need to make a top for it.

Friend of mine turned me on to an extra piano stand he had. Solid, collapsible & adjustable length legs. I had a 16"x 36" board in the garage, mounted it on the stand & screwed one small level on the width & length sides. Solid as a rock, can be leveled un uneven ground!

I love me a compact hunter. Heard a lot of good things about these guns. These Evol Minis need to go head-to-head with the FX Dreamline compacts, though. They look very similar. But the spec sheets seem to show one of them with a lot of distinct advantages over the other. ;)

Would be cool to see a shoot out between them.

I shot my know your limits target from target forge today at 75 yards and it did really well and even grouped a little bigger than the size of a magazine with very lightweight 15.89 .

I'm assuming you think the FX has the distinct advantages?

Certainly don't want to derail the OP's thread, but since you asked....yes. For a person looking for a compact hunter. It very much feels like AAA got their idea and design from somewhere, too.

Where is the basis for that thought? You will not find anything like this in all of the airgun industry. Furthermore, using advantages of additional barrel length and air reserves is not a true comparison. The airgun industry does not make a true comparison to the Evol Mini in such a robust package.
