Exceptional group

Not sure I could do this again, but this is five shots from bucket and sticks @ 30 yards, shot a few nights ago.

The whole group is a bit right, with 1/5 a smidge left of the rest, but that hole will support one of the same pellets that made it.

JSB .20/13.73 @ 805 from this gun...

Had a trap at 11, 30 and 55.
Three pellets went into the same hole @11 so I moved to 30, shot the five above and concluded that'll do, then moved on to 55 yards.

That heavy aluminum stock seems to have made this little rig easier to shoot. I think I'll have to campaign it at some of the summer ft matches this year.

Is that another magic barrel? Or did that come with the rest?

Yes, it is another magic .20 barrel from @Arzrover. Same 30ish year old batch as the other .20 barrel you're referring to. LW blanks that were at one point destined for Sterling guns. Lightly choked 12 land and groove but with seemingly less deep grooves than current LW barrels.

I've had this barrel in this gun longer than the other one, and have shot some ft matches with it over the last 4ish years. I've won my class with it a few times, and been match high a couple times too. Don't think I've ever missed more than a couple shots in a match when using it. Closest to "clean" with it as a .20 was one miss, if memory serves.

With the OEM stock it was hard to shoot. Vet wood stocks are surprisingly light when assessing that OFF the gun. And the Short had a too-short length of pull. It was also a bit top heavy, so just generally didn't fit me great. It was perfect for when compact is necessary, but that's not field target. So now it has that aluminum chassis stock, a change from a few months ago. The change seems to have given the gun a sort of keel, a heavy base that's helping with the tipsy, and generally making the gun heavier, which I've found js a highly desirable feature for field target. Need to shoot it at some matches for the final opinion.

Here's Colben shooting it with prior stock and when he shot Unlimited class. He's since graduated to Hunter. 3 year old photo lifted off Airgunners of AZ website.

And me using it for Open class that same match and same photo source.

The crazy good group in the OP that prompted this was shot from stool and sticks, Hunter style.

Wish bob had another barrel id pay more than a stock barrel and probe for 1 of those and a probe!! Nice pics of you and your son. Wish i could get my grandsons to go but they would rather shoot-em-up on tv or in vr😒 Understand what you’re saying about the feel of a gun on styx. Thats why i love the ghost im almost as steady on styx as benched! And now that i worked more with my addon to the pic rail im almost as solid offhand as i used to be! Its gonna be a fun year!!

When you look at the picture of Colben on the bucket it almost looks like he has 4 legs😂😂😂😂 I took a double take on what was hanging off the back of the bucket.

Ha! I never even noticed til you pointed it out. He was shedding layers and tied that jacket around his waist

Sure, he might get picked on in public school right now...but once he embraces the advantages that come with 2 extra legs, he will leave average humans far behind. 😀
Ha ha I knew somebody whose kid was born with a 6th finger in the "pinkie" position on both hands. The X-rays when she was a baby showed that they would likely be functional 11th and 12th digits. The parents chose to have them removed but I always wondered if there would have been some things easier in life with 6 functional fingers in each hand, instruments mostly, like piano and guitar. Of course there's the stigma....Your comment about two extra legs reminded me of 6 finger kid.

Wow, that's great shooting! I'm super jealous of your rig too. I wish I would have picked up one of those tacticals when they were available. I'm not a fan of the new style Veterans.
