Earlier this year, I was contacted by Michael. He wanted to see if I had any ideas for a special giveaway prize that AGN could give away. So, we passed a few ideas back and forth and settled on some custom gun racks. I was able to knock these out just in time for the event!
2 lucky winners received a 5 slot, free standing, custom gun rack, with locking storage compartment....
Hopefully this EBR/AGN giveaway is a tradition that will continue...
Underneath, I built in a storage compartment for misc items.
The compartment door is held shut with rare earth magnets. I also added some wooden dowels that can be used for locking the door shut.
The door acts as a "curb" for the rifle stock. The dowels keep this "curb" from popping open by accident. I wouldn't want a $2000 rifle to accidentally slip out.
I also added some felt to this area and the top. The only thing the rifles touche is soft felt or the soft side of velcro.
Here's the velcro application. Just a little more security to stop a rifle from getting bumped loose on accident.
The dowel locks and velcro are most likely unnecessary. But, I decided to add them in just in case someone wanted to use them. This was a fun project and I'm thankful that Michael hit me up to make them.
I'm currently trying to come up with something smaller to make to see if Michael would be interested in doing this again. Got any ideas?
EBR is a super fun event and there's things like this that can only be experienced by going. I'm already looking forward to next year and I hope to meet a lot of you there!
