Exclusive breech, new version

i cant figure it out. the chrome ring serves what purpose? it seems to be larger/lower than the trigger frame. Figured i would ask you guys before i bother the designer.

Hey legionair

That was my initial thought. However the second pic, and other pics in the ebay ads show a second arc, or gap, below the valve arc. Seems too far, too much space just to pin/ grub screw the new valve body in place.

Also, if the breech is the same size as the previous generation, which I have, the front of the breech ends right where the screw for the trigger frame goes. but still the pic seems like there is still a gap between the mystery bracket and the trigger frame thickness

Looks like a copy of their competitor's part.

It is to secure the breech assembly to the tube better. Crosman's tiny #4/48 breech screw is a bit weak and they know it. In retrospect I really have no idea as to why the bracket fits like it does.

The very first thing I do on most of my 2240 builds is replace that tiny #4/48 screw with a #5/48 or 6/40 screw to make things a bit more secure with the larger heavier breech and scope I am installing.

Since I am usually replacing the breech, with a repeater unit, as well I drill the front of the breech even with the trigger frame screw in the front and install another screw in the breech there. The hole is countersunk in the bottom and the tube drilled and tapped to #6/40. The hole in the top of the breech is drilled larger so the screw head will ft through it and then tapped out to #10/32 so I have another barrel hold down screw.

Although I don't much care for all the slop in the linkage the Exclusive breech has the front barrel securement screw in the right place to make this mod easy. If one should choose to undertake it.

hey Darkhorse,

You are right about the pricing.

However gmac is not sidelever. And for some that seems to pimp our toy just right.

My memory is mush, so don't quote me on this...But when I was spending hours hunting for parts to turn my 1322 into a multi-shot 2240, the only such breeches to be found were from Thailand or Russia.. gmac offered, they were out of stock forever.

And now, Exclusive has my attention with their option for .25 caliber.
