Extended GX-CS4 fills.

As far as I know a purge does not hurt. Mater of fact, some compressors auto purge.
Good point didn’t think of that. I was thinking it probably would be ok. I ran mine for the first time today for about an hour and ten minutes. Never thought of purging and at the end there was a decent moisture buildup.

I have no problem with purging while the motor is running. Usually, I will close the tank valve, then purge, close the purge valve and let the whip fill up to almost the tank pressure before I open the tank valve again. I feel 100% safe with that methodology.

I believe firmly that the issue comes from trying to start from a cold stop, against high-pressure air already loaded against the exhaust valve. The motor and linkages have to overcome inertia and the back pressure from the exhaust end.

A one way check valve on the tank fill adapter removes the need for closing the tank valve while purging. You won't lose any air already in tank. 20250421_115443.jpg
