External Plenum for FX Impact 30

Well, except the winner, Justin Welch... No additional plenum. If you are going to shoot .30 at optimum speeds, say 875 to 925 FPS, there is no need to add a plenum or any other power upgrades for that matter. If you are going to shoot heavy slugs at higher speeds, or if you're a science denier, and want to shoot the .30 pellets at over 1000 FPS, that would be the reason to upgrade the power potential... But for accurate best BC speed pellets, no reason. ;)

Hi. When you say "optimum speed. say 875 to 925 FPS", is this the speed needed for the lightest .25 cal slug to shoot accurately (no human error)? Say 33.9 grain neilsen slug? I have an impact x .25 cal 600mm barrel out of the box and i want to buy just the liner for the slug. I have the same question with the OP. Thank you.

2fast—— I said Yong Heng or other crappy part. I never said anything derogatory about the “China man” or filter or called the Yong Heng cheap or crappy product. Don’t put words in my mouth. I said Yong Heng or “a” crappy part. I was simply using the Yong Heng as an example because it is a part people are using often. The point is not who makes these parts, it’s that inexperienced people are attaching parts places they were not designed to be. And, many of these people don’t know what they’re doing. Sooner or later something bad is liable to happen. Just because you are capable and feel that it’s okay doesn’t make it safe for everyone.

I also never said the part blew up and killed someone when being used as it’s intended to be, on a compressor. I said it’s liable to happen if someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing uses parts purposed for other things.

And, most people I know don’t usually run their Impacts at 103-130bar like you said, although debatable.

Trust me I know what you were referring to when you say noobs are attaching yong heng fittings to their impacts and I'm not putting words into your mouth. Heavy impact also know what you were referring to that's why he is telling you, it is not as weak and poorly made as you claimed. You were talking about this yong heng filter. Made cheaply and poorly by the chinese. Yet it can handle 4500 psi easily.

I have two reservations about the external plenum, firstly one of safety, i know that the plenum is more than capable of withstanding the pressure but it is in a vulnerable position and could easily get a knock. The same could be said for bottle type guns but look at the length of the thread on those compared to how short they are on the plenum. I would fit some form of a guard just to offer a little protection. 

Then there is the looks.....”not very pretty” is about the kindest way of putting it.

I threaded mine M14 and used a very strong connector. It also has a large delrin washer for support. I'm confident that it wouldn't break if I dropped the gun directly on it from the normal height I would hold it. 

The 1/8 bspp to M10 adapter that I first used was pretty weak and could probably be snapped off with ease but I don't think it could harm the user at all. You'd just have to remove the broken piece and replace it.

I don't care for the look either but form follows function for me. I have 95cc of plenum now with the eccentric one installed also.

First off 2fast2furious stoti is a legend that actually helps people on the forum including myself on multiple occasions. Ive never heard of you. Your insane overreaction to stoti's comment makes me think you just join groups to troll and spaz out. I will say however that the filter is strong enough for the pressure. I have one and it works fine. Look man if your cool on this site you wouldn't believe how much help you can get from these guys. Stoti might even tell you how to use your red ryder if you apologize.

I think that it's human nature to assign a tone to someone else's text and many times we're wrong. I think we're just sharing ideas here and there's no reason for bruised feelings. Everyone has their say and we all learn from it. Even if we disagree it's still food for thought and we may change our mind. Bruce Lee said be like a sponge, take what you can use and let the rest pass. ☮️
