Events Extreme Field Target, Saturday 27 March, Phoenix

EXTREME AMERICAN FIELD TARGET

SATURDAY March 27, 2021.

Come out and try this new exciting air rifle shooting event. This is gaining in popularity with each passing month. There is a similar event the week prior near Waco, TX - the TexTreme FT.

Like regular field target, only more bad ass, with less rules...

From 25 to 100 yards.

Target range provided in yards.

Up to .30 caliber and 100 FPE. Slugs or Pellets, your choice.

C’mon slug shooters, I keep reading about how awesome slugs are at 100+ yards Show us how it’s done! We had SEVEN sluggers in January but only one last month. Top pellet and slug scores were equivalent. I know we can do better than that!!!

Below posted for Match Director Ben Spencer

————————————————————-

Our fun monthly match is almost here. We hope to have the interest to continue this on a monthly basis. This will give established shooters a consistent match to compete in.This will also give new shooters a chance to get to know other local shooters.

The phoenixrodandgun.org calendar link will take you to practiscore.com to register. This is recommended as it is easier to know the amount of shooters we will have and divisions. Our goal is to have a base class(dollar amount max)in the near future.(similar NRL22 division).Sponsorship for all divisions recognitions on a monthly/quarterly basis are currently ongoing.Walk up entrants are welcome, however on a cash only basis.

This is a new endeavor for me and I look forward to see everyone enjoying to shoot a very fun event. So please be patient with us as we get this Extreme FT off the ground. We also welcome any volunteers that would like to help. This will be a SHOOTERS!!!! match. This means that the majority will have the power of change. Communication is the key for this idea to be a success. So please let me know of any ideas or critiques you have. I also want to let you know your email address will NOT be sold or given to anyone or any businesses. If you do NOT want to receive my emails just let me know and I will remove your email address. I appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to this email.

Thank-you

Shooters will shoot from a seated (bucket provided if needed) position with a bi-pod (provided if needed). Shooter will be required to hit kill zones from 1" up to 3” to get animal to fall. The shooter will have 3 minutes (timed) to complete 4 shots (2 per animal) per lane. There will be 10 lanes with 2 animals in each lane. This will be a 40 shot match. Any ties will be settled by shoot off (time permitting) or longest streak. Distances will be given, animals from 25-100 yards.

You can register for this event on Practiscore.com HERE. You must have or create a free account to register.

Questions for the match can be directed to the match director by EMAIL.

I hear Ben and Mike are thinking the last couple matches have been too easy.

They're talking about making this next one MUCH more difficult. Average Extreme Troyer of 60 so rough difficulty levels similar to 1.5 inchers at 75 yards. Oh yeah, open sights only too. And NO WIND FLAGS, STREAMERS, etc, out on the range and DEFINITELY not at the shooters station. Slug shooters have to shoot with their eyes closed and all slugs MUST be loaded backwards.

High scores of 26/40 (65%)? Pffftttt!!! March match winner will be in the high single digits for targets knocked down.

(just kidding, there has been so much discussion about how hard these matches are that I couldn't resist).

😁😂😉

Let's have a 3/4" at 26Y and a 1" at 47Y in the offhand lane as long as we are upping the TF. Brown KZ and Brown target of course.

Since everyone seems to shoot through the course again after the match with their own version of the rules, it certainly seems like there is a desire for an unlimited class. Shoot current rules in the morning and unlimited (including Rimfire) afterward. Charge a little less for the second class if the shooter is in both.

More participation is better.....plus the club gets a little more income for almost no extra work. Seems like a win/win.

Mike

Yes, but no portable shooting benches. An attached bipod with rear bag is fine for prone... Unless you want truly anything goes...?

Mike S. can shoot with us, Rimfire vs PCP slug vs PCP pellet. Bring it!

;)

I want to try your new tripod! All of us are just having fun anyway so lets see how all the different ways and apparatuses work out.

Mike

Usually just a few of us do this but our punishment is picking up all the targets and reeling in the spools as well as putting it all away.

All the others left us to suffer the severity of our actions 😌

OK, I'll bring it... You need an ARCA Swiss rail to connect it to your gun. I use the Pic Rail to ARCA Swiss adapter on my guns. It might be considered a Rail Gun though if you use it! ;) LOL I have a new Mono Pod for the Saber Tactical butt stock I installed on the Impact Slugger I want to try out instead of a rear bag while prone.

I'll just take a few shots from your Impact to see how it all feels.

Works for me. I have to tear down anyway. I will do prone. Bipod attached to the rifle and a rear bag. Maybe I’ll have my new Thomas back by then! ( Hint-Hint). Maybe I can even get on Team Vudoo , Team Centercut and Team Thomas!

I have an Arca rail on the Vudoo.
I’ll give you both a chance and shoot left handed and willl close my right eye! Lol

I know my wife Barbara (Her first time shooting this) and I will be rolling out with Mike from San Diego. It is always fun to shoot the second time and see what you screwed up on or try something different. My guess is if Barbara really likes this she will excel when she gets the time limit down..... She shoots bucket and sticks pretty good when we go out.
