Does anyone shoot extreme Field Target with a .25 caliber. How about a .22 cal?

This weekend I shot my Skout Evo .25 with a Submoa barrel in it. I took first with a 58/60. I been shooting EFT for a good while now and it seams that .22 is getting less and less. At our matches in OKC and TX the .25 and .30 number of shooters far out weigh the number of .22 shooters. I only shot a couple matches with my .22 RedWolf and quickly decided I needed to make a change and so I did. I went with .25 for a number of reasons but a big one was price per tin and how many pellets you get for that price over the .30. .30 is great and I know a lot of people that shoot it but I prefer the .25 at the moment. If you’re looking for options and recommendations I could not recommend .25 more. Like Franklink said it can be a lot to get into in depth.
Great shooting Caleb....! Damn, that scope is HUGE! And my, what a fat barrel you have...
I have only shot pellets through it. I have not even tried slugs yet. It’s only a 1.24 twist barrel. So it might not shoot slugs very well. We will see after EBRCaleb, Are you shooting pellets or slugs through the new barrel?
I was shooting AEA 33.9 gr pellets at 910fpsHey Caleb great shooting! What weight pellets and the velocity do you shoot?
If you think the EFT setup is heavy, how about when he sets up the same gun for Benchrest?See that sweat pouring off Champ's face? That's not from just finishing a sixty shot match in 100 degree PLUS heat indexes.
It's from holding his rig long enough to pose for that photo.
lol that’s just my tent I shoot under.I wonder how fast those helicopter blades attached to the top of the elevation turret spin to impart downforce and gyroscopic stability.

You know me well enough to know that I like to ride the edge of disaster and genius.Isn't attaching a tent to your scope a bit extreme... even for you?

Oh I know! no offense taken at all. That explains a lot. Silly me; I thought you only straddled the edge.
BTW, hope you realize my poking is all in fun. You ride the edge well, Champ.

I' ve been playing around with 117cal. for our Long-Range matches which both guns AA500 and Maruader are set for under 20 FPE. The AA 500 is shooting H&N 10.65, and the Marauder is shooting JSB 13.43 Montser and the AA500 has knocked targets down @ 80yds little wind were the Marauder on lane 12 just as I sat down a 20 mph Guss came in that was a cross wind. So I aimed for inches to the right and sent it, me and two other shooters were amazed that the target went down @ 70 yds!! If i was using a lighter pellet it might not have gone down!! As For the 25 Cal I have had problems and got working again but need to readjust it and get a Dope chart made for it yet. As we only have one more LONG-RANGE Match setup for Oct 13th here in Ohio as it the Only club that has anything for Big Bore or smaller in a Field target matches!!! Wyandot County Air Gunners; find it on Face Book GroupI went to an XFT event last spring. It seemed like most people were using. 25. I had a .22 and did ok until the wind pucked up. I'll most likely buy a .25 or .30 barrel for next spring.
