F Class Targets

I don't shoot F-class, but rather the across the course highpower. I found that with the .177 with 10.4 grain JSB pellets that the wind drift is very similar to that of my 600 yard .223 80 grain Sierra Match King load when the airgun target is placed at 50 yards. I have drawn up some targets that I have printed on the back side of of the SR-1 repair center.

With the lower velocity (700 ft/s) of my .25 at 50 yards it is more like a good 6.5 bullet at 600 yards. What I did, and I think that you should do, is to compare the wind tables in Chairgun and your favorite centerfire rifle program or loading book, and determine the range at which the drift (in MOA) is nearly the same. Then scale the F-class target for that range. For example, my targets are 1/12th scale and have an offset for caliber on the scoring rings. If, say, you find that 60 yards is about right for a 600 yard simulation, the your targets would be 1/10th scale.

Be aware, that the vertical drift with an airgun pellet is essentially the opposite of a bullet. If you are going to shoot small bullets in your airgun, then the vertical component of the drift will be very similar.
