AIRGUN FELD TARGET MATCH REPORT

This was our fourth and final field target match of the year. November weather is always an iffy proposition but luck was with us again and it turned out to be a nice fall day with some but not too much wind on our mostly wooded course. Larry and Jim did their usual fine job designing the course with a Troyer of 28.2 which is pretty much our usual fare. This time they used three distinct areas for the lanes but kept them close to the archery clubhouse so that shooters could come quickly back to charge up their guns, rest, or visit the other “facility”. Overall the course proved to be a very nice and fun one to shoot. Everyone was able to knock down plenty of targets. Nobody cleared the course but Brian VanLiew turned in a very respectable score of 58/60. Brian also shot pistol at the same time and turned in a 36/40. The Hunter Division scores were a little below usual for us and I’m not sure why. Hunter shooters still turned in some nice scores with, a new shooter, Mike Beyerle leading the pack with a 47 with Paul Varney right behind him with a like score separated only by the tie breaker lane.
A big thank you to everyone that came out including new shooters Mike Beyerle and Eric Zink and to everyone that helps make our matches possible at Falls.
Next year we will be running the same schedule with four FT matches. Until then we wish everyone a wonderful, healthy, and safe holiday season.
