Took the Wildcat out to Daughter and Son-in-Law today (mother's day) for a little fun shooting. Very windy in gusts with calm periods in between gusts. I figured "what the heck. We aren't shooting a match" and Scott had never shot a high power air gun before. The Wildcat is 25 cal. zeroed for 50 yds. We shot at approx 25 yds shooting mostly with the wind. The look on Scott's face when he shot!
As each pellet went through same hole he exclaimed: I can't believe it — same hole!
Then I noticed him concentrating on another area of the target and he jumped up and down — got it! He shot a fly!
I went ahead and shot 5 shots sort of off-hand, well, the rifle was rested on the gas grill and I was feet spread leaning into rifle to try and steady it and work with the calm periods between gusts. This is not a bench rest hold!
The wind was 8-10 with heavy gusts. I have a 50 yard zero which I left. Pellet is 25 grain JSB.
Scott went on to shoot a beetle and more groups. Great fun and I was happy to introduce another to the fine art of PCP air guns.
