Favorite pistol pellet

Hey guys

What's the most accurate (or favorite) pellet for your pistols in your experience? I know it depends on gun, speed, and a million other things, but just generally...

I'm shooting jsb 7.33 in 177 and 13 grain in .22. Are match pellets more accurate in these guns for you guys?

If you had to pick one??

I've been getting excellent results in my AP16 with the H&N FTT 8.64gr pellets. 

In my 2240 I am using JSB 14gr.

In .22 Veles I use either JSB 15.9gr or H&N Barracuda Match 21gr.

Like you said speed matters and most pistols are pretty low on power so heavier pellets will be very lobby.

Artemis PP700SA.177 loves H&N Barracuda Hunter Extreme and that's what I feed it. Accurate and a great ratting pellet.

Agreed, I too like the lighter weight JSB domes if I’m going out past 30 yards or so. Mainly because it helps to keep the velocity up so the trajectory isn’t quite so loopy. But for the most part I stick with wadcutters, and for some reason I get consistently better results with the RWS offerings than anything else. The 7gr RWS Basic or the 7gr R-10 (pricey), the Meisterkugeln in either weight, and even the 9.3gr Supermags despite their weight. 

About the Supermags, maybe I just got lucky with the particular manufacturing lot but they do great in all 10 of my .177 airguns. From the 4fpe P17 pistol all the way up to an 18fpe rifle. Yes, an accurate wadcutter at 940fps. Somehow they do well in everything, and at distances that are useful for pest control. Several models will hold 0.3” to 0.5” groups at 30 yards with them. Again, maybe I got lucky but I suggest giving them a try if you haven’t already.

Thanks for the input guys. I keep hearing a lot about the RWS offerings and have been curious about the Meisterkugeln. Maybe I'll give em a shot. I also have these h&ns but never tried em much. Gonna do some experimenting....

Not had luck with wadcutters but I really like them for pesting.

The RWS Diabolo Basic wadcutters are generally good in most of my pistols out to 25 yards and they aren't expensive I have a bunch of the R-10 Match and they do shoot a little tighter but I don't know that it is enough to warrant the expense for pistol shooting accuracy unless one is competing.

I have had good luck with the Meisterkugeln in my RWS 6G, Daisy 747. Although some years back I used the cheap Gamo match wadcutters and a I think it was Beeman hollow points in my P3 and several others and they did quite well also. I use the JSB domes in various weights for my .22 FX barreled 2240 as most seem to shoot 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups at 50 yards in it.

RWS Supermag 9.3 gr. Not as accurate as their R-10 pellets, but they carry farther and have that nice, flathead slap. Not so good in most springers, but often great in all other platforms.

Not that common for a wadcutter in my experience.

It all depends on what kind of pistol you are shooting.My lower powered pistols like the RWS 7 grain wadcutters. My more powerful pistols Like the H&N Diablos.But some results vary just a little bit from pistol to pistol.

In my lower power pistols ... Izzy 46 / Webley tempest / Diana 6M / Beeman P1 etc .... The 7 grain RWS HOBBY or JSB 7.33 exact.

Shooting the PCP pistols such as my BSA scorpion Field target conversion or the Crosman 1720 .... Air Arms 10.3 grain

Easy....The Falcon 7.87...Best energy retention pellet there is, high velocity, high quality...making it ideal for sub 6ftlb pistols. 

Dome is probably best all round. Pellets are clean, not even a grain of lead dust left in the tin...

The most accurate believe it or not I have shot are the OLD LONG GONE AND DISCONTINUED 7.9gr Crosman Copperhead pointeds out to 55 yards routinely from the Crosman 1701P and FWB300s.

The current version is the 7.4gr but aren't as accurate past 45 yards. The current 7.9gr OVERSIZED Premier Super Points SUCK.

The 22 Crosman pointed 14.3gr work great too that come in tins of 175. If your gun like a the OLD DISCONTINUED Brown Box 22 Premiers this is a great alternative.

JSB Exact RS in .177 I think they come in at 6.something? They are super consistent in my Beeman P17 and my Crosman 1701P. I have pretty good luck with the CPHP also.

I have a huge stockpile of AA 16gr diablos. Other than that for .177 I shoot crosman wadcutters. And for .25 I shoot jsb kings

.177=RWS R-10 Pistol,Meisterkugein 8.2...Vogel match 8. AA Diabolo Field Heavy 10.34.....22.about the same plus JSB Match 13.73...

I usually start with the RWS Meisterkugein,,they always do good in whatever I shoot them in....after that ,it is time to find a better match for what pistol I am shooting at that time.
