Featured Content?

Just when I thought I had the "Featured Content" category of my profile figured out something new occurred. Some time this month it seems that a couple of threads I've created got added to my featured content. Previously, I only noticed a couple of sale ads that I had posted around the holidays were lumped into this category because they were physically moved into a temporary forum specifically for sale ads for said holiday. That made sense. Now my "All Things Benjamin Bulldog - Master Thread" and "How to Use a Corbin S Press - A Thread Geared Toward Beginners" threads have been added to my featured content. Why is that? I do think that the Bulldog thread is helpful to others as I have learned a lot about the platform over the years and I am acquainted with other more knowledgeable members who have helped me learn the platform since I've bought my first Bulldog. That is to say, I am confident that I am a good judge of the quality of the information that I posted and of contributions that others add to that thread. Now on the Corbin thread, I posted what I'd learned along with my mistakes, corrections, and incessancy on doing certain things my way in swaging my own projectiles. I think I was clear that other members and readers should follow what the manufacturer published on using their presses. Thankfully more knowledgeable members participated and contributed to this thread making it a damned good guide that I myself benefited from as a novice to swaging. Considering these disparate threads, why were these two selected to be added to my featured content? I no longer understand the criteria. Furthermore, there are members with knowledge on myriad topics regarding air guns whose profiles I've checked and I don't see any of their noteworthy instructional or troubleshooting threads in their profile's featured content. So again, why me? I'm not complaining, I simply wish to understand.

I may be wrong, but I think the Featured Content is an added tag, not a location movement. The amount of traffic attracted to those threads by viewer numbers hit a logarithmic significant level and those threads get the extra recognition they have earned.
@Moderator3 Hmmm. That makes sense, but is still strange and here's why. I periodically look at the views of some threads I've created. I have one with over 30K views, but the threads I mentioned were added and not that one. So I would think that the traffic generated would have identified that thread first. I have only seen one other member profile with a single thread in his featured content. His is a great thread.
