Friends,
Just a reminder about our inaugural AAFTA style field target rifle match Saturday after next, on February 4, of course weather permitting. It will be a 54 shot rifle match on the same nine-lane course as our regular TEXtreme FT matches with three targets per lane and two shots per target.
I expect to set a course with a Troyer Difficulty factor in the high twenties in order to make the match newbie-friendly, but not so much so that experienced FT shooters can’t enjoy it. And considering the only official wind difficulty multiplier is 1.25, should winds on match day be only average for the Ranchito Robinson venue, suffice to say that would increase the course difficulty into the mid-thirties.
Fun Rifle shooters are welcome to enter the match, as also are pistol shooters using air pistols producing less than 20 foot-pounds muzzle energy. Because I’ll be using some smaller extreme field targets on the course, be aware rifles or pistols producing much less than 15 foot-pounds of energy might lose some points to good paddle hits that don’t take the target down. These are reasons I call this AAFTA style field target.
I’ve recently added several new folks to the TEXtreme email list, some new to airgun competition(s). I hope you folks will come join the fun, as I intend to make these AAFTA style matches fun for new and experienced competitors alike.
Y’all Come,
Ron & Maggyy
