They do it to visually demonstrate that they're capable of standing on their own two feet. Or they may have an airgun but no photo editing software (or capability). Or maybe they have a foot fetish like Dostoevsky did...

Someone should step up and volunteer to edit all those nasty feet off of the interwebz!

The frequency with which it occurs is staggering.
Not only does the phenomena manifest itself here , but every gun site, airgun or powder burner, Worldwide.

if they don't mind showing their feet, I don't mind lookin the other way, but appreciate better photos

There could be far worse in the background of a pic so someone’s feet shouldn’t bother anyone. I usually never pay attention to anything but the gun. But a couple years ago I do remember a gun pic that had a horrendously abused toilet in the photo. Looked like dirt week at Bristol Speedway. That was certainly more offensive than some feet.

Someone selling an FX Panthera. So I looked inside to see what he was selling. And there it was. Feet!
I was like, I just wrote an inquiry about this exact subject. And then it happened. Again.

Many times, feet are usually mostly covered due to the upper overhang hiding all but the toes anyway.
