She still pumps out a pellet accurately but velocity is down and probably needs a complete rebuild... not just a seal. Never abused but warn out. OK, obsolete and I bet replacement components are no longer available. found German Feinwerk Bau site but no english translation and/or looks like no parts availability . But does not hurt to ask the community if there is/are any in USA shops that still work on these pistols. I have sent my Diana 10 to Air Gun Works. [ no I am smart enough to realized only an expert should work on a complicated Diana 10 ]. I believe it only needs a new seal but I told the shop to verify all aspects of the toy. Unfortunately mechanical stuff wears out even with adult care. I gave up on the Mod-80 ... since any dealer i dealt with in the past is/are gone. Nice to see a web site is now operational. Any advice would be appreciated. VR

the FWB model 80 has an internal buffer and a steel piston ring that in reality will never wear out
the buffer takes up the slam of the piston and over time can disintegrated
if the buffer is blue, it should be good if white it is original and could be bad and you can see the buffer though the transfer port
if the breech seal is blue it has been changed pictures please
it has a cone shaped breech seal and damper on the outside and service parts are available

now the biggest thing i had never done one but i know how so i took it apart and replaced the buffer and the breech seal and small breech area buffer
the internal buffer was in great shape
so did i waste my time YES and NO
the pistol now had new soft parts good for the next 20 years but was it needed not really, at least not yet
so to look into the breech to see the color of the buffer is your first step, if blue or green you are good and if it is cream or white it is original
the buffer is just that and you in my opinion never have to change the piston ring
