Might not be legal but then again you might get away with it. I have seen shooters sitting on the ground with a bipod leaned up against their knee but Tom's method is rather new. I think you would always shoot better with a bipod sitting on a bucket, and as low as you can comfortably get.

I don’t disagree with you. I shoot Hunter class with a bucket and bipod too. I just wanted to share another way to shoot better with a monopod.

Alternative method for shooting with a monopod. From Tom Gaylord, Pyramid Air, January 2015. Rest the tip of the monopod under one foot and the shaft on your opposite thigh. Press forward and down on the yoke with the stock fore end to create stability. Try it, it works quite well.

Thanks for sharing. I bet you could do this standing as well. But it wouldn’t be as good as the sitting position.
