Fill valve maintenance or replacement on a Marauder

I have a 1st generation Marauder. Air leaks out of the fill port. I removed the fill adapter assembly and then the fill port. I was surprised to find the valve is basically just a pin that is pushes against the body of the port without any spring. There was a lot of what looked like gunk, but perhaps it is wax. No O-ring or seal. Perhaps the gunk was wax and it was supposed to be there. Perhaps there was once an O-ring. My questions are how does the valve work (how should it be) and is it repairable? If I need to order a new valve or fill adapter assembly do I need to contact Benjamin or is there a recommended vendor for parts? Thanks!

I also checked out Air Rifle Technology. Very interesting work. I will have to decide how much I love my Marauder before investing in those parts, but there is some great work there. I have been looking at a Brocock Bantam. I'm afraid the shorter carbine and lower weight will win in the end and the Marauder will end up being a back up gun. Then again, it has thus far been highly reliable, accurate, and super quiet. Thank you!

Ho chiamato Benjamin.

ti ringrazio anticipatamente
