Umarex Fill valve on Gauntlet 2 30 fixed

Hello,

I didn't read through all the replies here, so if you're all out of these, please say so and let me know where we can order them. My boyfriend has been trying to fix the leak in his 30 cal Gauntlet for a while now, and we just bought a new valve for it, only to learn it's the wrong thread size. If you still have extra o rings to spare, we would love to get one or two from you. Happy to pay for shipping or whatever you think is fair. We're in Heber/Overgaard, if you happen to live in northern AZ. Thanks so much, Rebecca

If you have the money you can get the flex regulator from Hajimoto for about $150. You can also get the regulator with an upgraded 0.5L bottle which would give him more shots and power.

Hi, thanks for that info, but for now we just need a seal. Personally, I think Umarex should be boycotted for making such a piece of poop that something vital stops holding air after not even going through 100 rounds. But I guess that's the nature of most things built these days.

Was having a slow leak out of the fill port valve. Took apart and the inside of the valve has a small piston that allows air in and not out. I determined that a small o ring 1x 2.5 metric was the problem. Nothing available locally, so ordered some from the o ring store. After new o ring installed, problem solved. If you have same issue PM me and I can send you new o ring. When ording on line you end up with lots of extras.
yeah..im developing that problem now with the fill port is leaking..may replace the whole plug..

O rings go bad all the time. Nothing umarex can do about that. They dry up especially if the gun sat in the factory for awhile.

Emailed Umarx about my leaking fill port. No parts offered...send it in. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN Umarex!!! Spend $10 shipping on a 2 cent o-ring? I have the straight thread white o-ring version. So, found one from an old paintball 4.5k bottle. Not same but works till I find proper rings. I use cheap silicone shock oil to look for leaks. NO soapy water, lol, just me. Captain O-ring has good price for main rifle o-rings which i used to fix the badly engineered "bottle block" o-rings. The SS part on left is original, replaced with brass version until I find the proper rings.

I've got the same part(on the right). It's been leaking since day one, VERY slowly, it eventually pushes the rubber cover off if I leave it untaped overnight. I finally took it apart to have a look and that oring is in pathetic condition. Ive been looking for the O-ring for a few hours. Was getting ready to call Umarex and ask them for one but not sending in the darn rifle for a simple fix. Thanks for saving me the trouble

They wouldn't give me the o ring size and mine was completely disintegrated so I couldn't size it. I had purchased a G30 in October and probably had 400-500 slugs through it. It started leaking in March, I called and they sent me a label to send it in. I was so busy I didn't send it in until 6 weeks ago, and in 5 days I had a new G30SL. I realize that waiting to send it in benefited me, because they would have still had original G30's to send me back then so I lucked out on that part. The side lever is so much better. My 64 grain griffins and the 78 grain griffin boat tails slide in perfectly with zero resistance. This one has about 50 slugs through it, it's been super windy and cold in Oklahoma since I got it back. Any day I had the time to do it and was at our farm, it was 15-20mph winds and below freezing so I haven't had the chance to get it dialed in yet. It seems to not shoot as good as my original was. It was a laser at 50-75 yards with the 64 grains. I can't make the call yet though as I haven't gotten to sight it in during normal weather you would be shooting in.

I was really frustrated they wouldn't give me the o-ring sizes for the gun and wouldn't just let me send the bottle in, but clearly there was something else wrong with the gun because they sent me a brand new one. If I would have gotten the o-ring, my gun likely still would have been broken and I certainly wouldn't have been able to figure it out on my own. The G30 was my first intro into pcp's.

So in the end, I'm pretty happy with Umarex warranty service. I didn't have to pay for shipping. I filed the claim got the shipping label and waited 8 months and it was still good. The labels are good for a year. I went from never going to buy Umarex again, to now considering getting a hammer in the future and probably a notos to play with. I got a brand new updated version of my gun out of the inconvenience. The only place the SL was leaking was the pressure gauge on the fill port I had to tighten it about 1/8th of a turn and it hasn't dropped a single PSI in the past few weeks its been stored. They actually sent me two of the o-rings that went bad on me with this one.

Hi, is that 1x2.5 size all I need to know when ordering one? Does that include the thickness? I’ve ordered 2 different o ring sets that were the correct diameter, but incorrect thickness. Thanks in advance

Go to harbour freight. The 250pcs set has the o rings you need. Like you said they are right diameter but kinda thin. Those o-rings actually work. I fixed my gauntlet fill port o-ring and my regulator o-ring.

I bought a brand spanking new Gauntlet SL 30 about six months ago and I knew there was a problem immediately after it's maiden fill when I placed the rubber cap onto the fill valve and it leapt off into the stratosphere.

I degassed the gun and removed the fill valve in order to diagnose the problem. I found an abberation on what appears to be plating on the inside sealing surface of the valve.

No problem! I'll just call Umarex, explain the problem and ask them to send me a new fill valve.

Except they won't. Not an option. Won't happen. Fuggetaboutit. Tough beans.

In response to my request for a new fill valve, they insisted I send the entire rifle to them so their "gunsmiths" can evaluate the problem. Enraged, I calmly told the representative I am more than capable of ascertaining the problem having competently worked on my own airguns and firearms for decades. They wouldn't budge an inch.

I put a dab of silicone diver's grease on the sealing o ring and the problem was temporarily resolved. Lately, I have noticed it leaking again.

My plan now is to polish the fill valve sealing surface in an attempt to mitigate the defective plating and replace the o ring for good measure.

Ultimately, I will fix this problem just like I fix all my gun related problems. But all of this grief is one hundred percent unnecessary if Umarex, at minimal expense and virtually no liability would simply send me a new fill valve - something I would gladly pay for.

Would I ever buy another Umarex product? Not a chance in hell.
