I need to buy a bottle and 1st question is what size will I need? I’m shooting a FX Maverick sniper and will be shooting in benchrest matches. I have a compressor,or do I just take that to matches?
I don’t know, what is a 30 minute tank,,,only seen in cu in or ftCan Your compressor fill bottles without problems? A 30 minute tank should be enough for a match. Some clubs have resources for refills.
There are calculators that will tell you how many full fill-ups you will get. I use a 45 minute SCBA tank which is about 66 cubic feet. I get at least 10 full 250 bar fillups on my P35s. It depends a lot on how much air your gun stores and at what pressure. Bottles don't really give 300 bar refills since they normally are only filled to this level and the pressure starts to drop as you remove air. But once my tank cannot fill my guns to 250 bar I do not have to stop shooting. I can fill to a lower pressure I will just have fewer shots until I hit the regulator. I wouldn't want to do that if I was competing but for informal shooting having to refill your gun more often is at worst a minor hassle. I usually refill my bottle when it gets down to around 3200 psi or a bit less. But I could keep using it all the way down to around 150 bar (about where my highest regulator is set).
If you want 300 bar refills it is better to use a compressor IMHO. You can get them that run on your car battery or even a cordless power tool battery. The small compressor could also fill to lower pressure, of course. It won't be as fast or as quiet as a bottle but it is a viable option.
