Filling from a large bottle?

Just looking for some real world experience filling off of a 6.8L tank. Assuming a full 4500 fill on the big tank, how many full fills can I expect on a 580cc gun? How many partial, but usable fills?

I‘ve read some of the threads about tank sizes and how to convert Liters to cu/ft, etc. but I still have no clue what I can expect.

We ALL have been there. My advice? STOP worrying about the math and go shoot!

Simply refill your tank when it hits the point where you feel the need to refill.

How long are your hoses? How much air do you waste each transfer of air? Ever turn your SCBA bottle upside down and purge to remove any water? How many Bar in the gun each refill? Are all your connections perfect, or so some leak a little? Any air escaping from your burst disc? How accurate are your gauges?

Far too many variables to worry about. Fill til you can't, then refill the bottle. Simple as that.

Don't bother with the little one. My 18cu only fills my Redwolf a couple times. My Ghost a couple times before its below the regulator setting.

Don't get me wrong, if I were to go off hunting and only a couple shots possible, small is fine, any bench or target shooting, well....


In this case, Bigger can be better.

What he said. If you have a means to fill the larger one it will be money well spent.
