Filling Hose possible leak

Hello,

Today I've noticed that after I filled my Edgun Leshiy, and after I close the bottle tap, the pointer in the guage keep going down at very slowly.

So, I believe there's a leak between bottle and gun in one of this parts:

According to your experience, where is more usual this type of leak?

Thank you

This is a common issue. The causes are many. I've experienced most of them. Some because the fittings were the wrong size, Some O ring failure. One was crimp failure and another one was internal hose leak between inner and outer hose material. Importantly, failures are explosive and can cause injuries.Advice, stay well away of all pressurized components and always wear a face shield. High pressure air is dangerous.

Be very careful with Chinese fittings, especially those extended female quick connect fittings. They are nice because often the male fitting on the gun is a bit inset in the furniture and difficult to get your your fat fingers around the the slip sleeve to disconnect the fitting. Well I have bought two from different sources and the ID of the slip ring was a bit too large and would not hold the detente balls deep enough in the male Foster fitting retention groove and under pressure they both explosively released, very exciting!

There are several things you shall know.

- Male foster fittings ....made for a metric market or made for North America (typically paintball male foster fittings)? They are different in length of grabbing and holding. You can check that if you have several males fittings and several quick disconnects purchased from several different places. Connect them together just without powering up the lines, some may have a snug fit and some may have a slightly loose moving grab. Also some may have dual orings.

- Sealing pipe thread fittings are differing in hardware you use. Usually Metric fittings you seal with washers in between fittings, BSPP with teflon plug puck inside and underneath the male thread and NPT with teflon tapes, but the first two combinations could also have further variations. There are standars and you shall not worry about what is made in China or India or ....USA.

- Thread dimensions....metric fasteners made in countries with metric standard or imperial, the thread is not matching 100%. USA metric fasteners tend to be more on loose connection vs EU in example. I have never saw in North America any company is using #1 and #2 and #3 taps for holes in example, no, they drive in a single shot machining tap and call it a day.

And the list goers on but I have no further time for this ;) google could be your best friend.
