Filling hose stuck on fill probe even after line is vented

I am having a weird issue. I am filling my AEA Challenger with a bottle.. Gun fills fine.

Once full I shut off the bottle, vent the line but the hose won't come off the rifles fill probe. It comes off the bottle. After fifdling with it for a few minutes it finally popped off but a large burst of air came out, leading me to believe the reason it didn't come out was due to pressure locking it in.

Any ideas? Maybe bad check valve on fill probe? Or is something wrong in the rifle fill port?

Not familiar with AEA Challenger, does it require a separate fill probe to be inserted or is a permanent male foster fitting attached to gun? WM

Its a screw in fill probe.. So can be removed or permanently left.

Assume it's permanently left in place, what part was stuck?

Just noticed previous thread regarding filling problem with AEA Challenger. Think I'll let fellow Challenger owners help, screw-in fill probes are not familiar to me. WM

Can you post a picture of the probe. Don't think I've heard of a "screw in probe" until your post. If you've truly bled off the air in the fill whip there has to be even a small pocket of pressurized air getting trapped in there somewhere. Hence, asking for picture(s).

If it's a screw type bleed then keep bleed open. If it's a push button bleed then keep the button push down while you unplug the airline.
I have a brass bill probe for one of my guns and I hate it. The ball bearings in the female foster leave little dimples on the probe and make it tough to either put on or take off.

Thanks, so whenever you fill do you have to also screw in & out when done or do you leave it in? This is a weird one. Starting to think that non-standardized fittings might have something to do with the problem too somehow. If you leave it in & need a magnetic dust cover for it PM me your address. I'll send you a couple.

Thanks. Ya I will Most likely leave it in. I have a few fittings so will try them and see if it makes a difference.

If you have a dust cover that would be great. I was actually looking for some options. I’ll send you PM.
