Filling SCBA

So to fill my SCBA tank I get this:

and just fill it up right? I have the fill station already, for some odd reason I thought that was all you needed, please tell me if I'm missing something.

I thought i put it in my original post but I have that covered, I'm talking strictly about filling the tank up. I'm running a young heng compressor with the tuxing oil/fuel separator.

Just replace the hose with a male foster fitting and use the bleed knob on the yong hang? All you have to do is connect the fill wipp to the male foster then with the bleed screw open and the tank valve closed start the compressor, then close the bleed screw. When the pressure in the hose gets close to the tank pressure open the tank valve and then keep an eye how high the pressure goes. When you reach the pressure desired close the tank valve and open the bleed screw. Let it run for a few minutes to hopefully push any moisture out.

this will make a one way airflow,,, and reQuire a bleed valve at the bottle side which looks like you already have

I would suggest that once you close compressor bleed valve, IMMEDIATELY open tank valve. There's no need to let pressure build in the line before opening the tank valve. It serves no useful purpose. (Based on decades of experience with SCBA tanks & their filling process)

That quick connect fitting photo is of a low pressure, home shop type, male wuick connect. If you have a Yong Heng and it has a female Foster, all you need is a double male Foster to connect your tanks fill whip and YH fill whip together.
Or, I’m thinking maybe you just want as short a fill line as possible. If that’s the case you can buy the linked fitting. And that’s assuming your SCBA has a male CGA347. Fitting in link is a bit pricey, but it’s classy. There are cheaper ones but not as nice. IMO

You have the compressor, tank & fill adapter. The ONLY thing you might be needing is a double male foster fitting (about $8) to connect the compressor HP outgoing line to your fill adapter line. If you have any questions or not sure of the process PM me. I'll be glad to help.

Frankly, the one way foster on your filter coming from the tank is going to give you the best experience when airing up your tank.

Here's why: When filling and you want to blow off the water from the accumulator block (left knob on the YH) the pressure valve (right knob) you can do so without taking any tank air. Also, if you blow the pressure disk on the compressor, you don't lose your tank air.

Okay idk what's going on, the pressure gauge on the YH just goes flying up as soon as I tighten the bleed screws. I attached a picture, I will position the water separator correctly once I actually get it to work. Any help would be much appreciated.

Disconnect from the gold filter, and see if it passes air through the black filter first. It seems like you have a solid clog somewhere. Is this a brand new compressor? Make sure you have not over filled the crankcase with oil.

I actuallt just did that it filled up my avenger directly with just the black filter and it filled up fine. It is a fairly new compressor, about 3 months old. I topped off the oil last week and tightened down all the hoses. When I fill the guns directly it works fine. These were the steps I took when I tried filling it, let me know if I'm missing something.

Turn on the compressor with both valves open, attach the compressor hose to the male foster fitting on the fill station, close the valve on the tank and fill station bleed valve. Then I close the valve on the compressor to fill it and the gauge just goes flying up so I undo the bleed valve on the compressor so it doesn't go past 300 bar. I'm thinking that I got some teflon tape stuck somewhere but I've went through the whole thing twice and can't find anything.

You need to match your bottle pressure with your compressor, then open the bottle valve to fill.
For example: If your bottle pressure is 200 bar, do as you have until the compressor reaches 200 bar, then quickly open your bottle valve and your bottle will slowly fill to your desired pressure. Apologies if this makes no sense…
Regarding the gold filter, it seems the compressor side foster fitting must be blocked with something, pull that fitting and make sure the crush washer, if it has one, hasn’t been over tightened and blocking the input of air.

2: the two pieces I posted make for a one way valve, so he can open the tank valve and then start his compressor, some folks call it a
'pressure maintenance vlv',,,make a direction 'arrow' on your one-way

Thank you guys for all the help. This is my first time filling the tank so it has no pressure in it at all..... After doing some poking around there was teflon tape stuck right in the compressor's thread. I took the hose off the compressor and it turned it on and about a second later it spit out a piece of teflon tape. The tank is currently filling right now, I'm used to filling guns so never had to run the compressor this long. I'm going to give it a break every 15 minutes and put a bunch of ice in the bucket, let's see how it goes.
