Finally found the guns I love.

I experimented a lot in the beginning of my PCP adventure, I bought a few AEA semi autos and I had a 50 cal bullpup, I had a few Hatsans. The AEA bullpup was fantastic but the semi-autos left a lot to be desired. I ended up selling all of them, now I have a Huben K1 .25 cal, a Huben GK1 .25, in my opinion the very best PCP pistol you can get by a long ways. And the jewel of my collection is the western rattler .35, Love how powerful that gun is in semi-auto. And I kept my .25 Hatsan Sortie for my kids to shoot. I spent a lot of money when I got into this hobby but I am really happy with the four guns I now have. I don't regret the money I spent at the beginning though because it was a learning experience, I had a lot of fun with all the guns I bought getting to the point I am now.

I echo your journey. I have bought 13 PCP’s and 2 springers. I narrowed it down to two FX Crowns and an AA HFT 500 PCP’s and a TX200 springer.
Being there’s no where to try out airguns near me the only method was to buy and try. All were really good but the FX’s just gravitated to the keep list.
An Evol .30 could catch my eye but they are pricey.

If you had to pick only 1 of the 4, which would it be? Glad I didn't fall into the AEA semi auto hype myself.

My GK1 It's definitely my most used PCP just because it is a pistol, easy to carry out into the woods in a holster, and I get over 60 FPE on 6 to 8 shots and never below 50 on all 17 the way I have it set up now. But if I could only pick one it would definitely be the Western rattler just because that has the power to take down a deer with no problem. AEA makes a fantastic gun if It's not semi-auto. But their semi atos mess up a lot in my experience, when they are working right they're a fun gun to shoot and some of them have some good power but for me they were just too unreliable. I learned my lesson that yeah biting the bullet and spending a lot of money can be a hard decision to make but at the end of the day when you're out you want a gun that you know is going to do what you want it to do every time.

Yeah in the beginning when I got into this hobby I wanted to try it for as cheap as possible in case I didn't like PCP guns and I'm never really like spending a lot of money on one thing. But I am really happy that I bit the bullet and actually treated myself to some quality products in this hobby. Like I said I don't really regret spending that money on cheaper guns because they were a good learning experience and it gave me the knowledge and experience I needed to treat my good guns right. But if anybody ask me my opinion now I would tell them just save up and buy something you know has a good reputation.
