Finally got a chance to shoot my RAW HM1000 at 100 yards

In a previous post a couple of guys had asked how this rifle grouped at 100 yards. I'm happy to say I finally got to the 100 yard range today. I was pleasantly surprised to find another air gunner there. Matt, not sure if you are on this forum, but it was nice to meet you! I had to leave to go pick up my daughter and I couldn't hang around long enough to go grab my targets, so unfortunately I don't have target pics to post, but I have to say this rifle continues to amaze me. 50 yards isn't even a challenge to put a full mag through one ragged hole that's well less than half an inch CTC. 100 yards is definitely more challenging, but this rifle is definitely capable of sub MOA 5 shot groups at 100. Today I was shooting straight out of the tin and out of a magazine. More than half of the groups I shot had 4 out of 5 shots inside an inch with one of the five straying out to maybe an inch and a half. Most of those strays are definitely on me. About every other mag or so I would get one shot and sometimes two shots that were 3 or 4 inch fliers. A few of those were definitely mistakes by me and there was a little variable wind, but I would say most of the bigger fliers can likely be chalked up to shooting unsorted ammo.

All in all I was extremely happy with the results. Truthfully I wasn't sure how well the gun would perform at the longer range. It's set up to shoot 25 Kings at 825 fps which means the drop at 100 yards is about 15 inches with my 30 yard zero. My Chairgun scope tape was about 15 clicks off on the high side at 100 for some reason. Will have to figure out why and get that corrected, along with sorting some ammo before I give it another go. Will definitely get pics next time and possibly video as well. Below is the original pic of the gun that prompted the questions. May you all shoot straight and hit what you are aiming at :)!

 


 
Thanks 30! I'm betting the higher velocities (and thus flatter trajectory) you are getting with your X probably make it a little less sensitive to variances in pellet weight than mine. If I was going to shoot mine at a hundred or more yards on a regular basis, I would probably send it back to Martin to crank up the velocity into the low 900s, but most of my shooting is 50 yards or less. That pic was taken with a Samsung Galaxy 5 with marginal lighting. Gotta love technology :)!

Thanks for the compliments on the rifle, but all the credit goes to Martin and Sandra at RAW. Other than some minor tweaking of the hammer spring and cleaning the barrel, I haven't done a thing to it except shoot it. Seemed like forever waiting 17 weeks to get it, but damn was it worth it. If you have the patience and the coin, you will not be disappointed. Mine was worth every second and every penny and then some. I'd sell my wife before I sell this Rapid and she is smokin hot! :)

Very nice! Yes you may have to wait ( though dealers do have some models ready to go ) to have it your way, and yes it is SO worth the wait! Having the company owner doing 100% hands on QC from start to finish in RAW's case creates heirloom quality airguns. I'll be keeping my HM1000x forever.
Did you ad some wax to that stock, or ?

My order for a .30 caliber RAW was confirmed on October 29, 2015. Martin emailed me that I am now at the top of his list, so maybe soon my wait will be over. I already have my .30 caliber JSBs and Predator Polymags, and Hawke Sidewinder waiting for the big day. I recently purchased a Wicked Hunting Light, and will be getting a sling and Atlas Bipod after my RAW arrives.
