Just received the shortened Crosman tube, from Roy at Mountain Air, I need to finish the gun.

Think I will leave the ports stock for now and run it at 1600 and 2000 psi to see how it will do. The original arrow gun shot too fast at 432 fps and destroyed way to many arrows so I will try to keep the power down on this one.

Took me near an hour to shorten and modify the heads on the three screws. I used stainless 10x32, cuz that is what I had, but will change them out later for Grade 8 screws so I can run at 3k psi if I want to.

Although I am using a separate tank, like on my .22 Blue Gun I decided to pressurize the tube on this one so it will act like a big plenum as my projectiles will be so heavy.

Just the assembly and testing left to do. These Crosman guns are so simple to put together. Got another in the werqs maybe two.

I can't believe the parts I have amassed, for the 22xx guns, over the decades. Kind of boarders on the ridicules side until I figure out what I can build next with them.

Expect it will be finished tomorrow. Should be fun!


 
Well it isn't going to happen this way as I just realized that the DAQ breech isn't for the 22xx guns. Took me a long time to figure it out but It's for a Crosman 180. Don't know why I did not notice before. Thought I had another 9MM assembled around here that could donate the parts but probly thinking of the one I sold or the other that was stolen years back.

So then I thought the gun would get an RJ Machine 22xx breech but it uses the old style front breech screw that will interfere with the Cothran vale. I could probly drill the valve without it causing a problem. But I have a Crosman breech that has the screw in the right place. Still it looks as if the gun instead of dual use will only be an arrow pistol. 

Have to steal the hammer from another project if I use the Crosman breech so the hammer does not slam the breech screw.

So many choices to make just to put a gun together. I werqed all day on a couple three guns and in the end got nothing at all accomplished. Nothing unusual though. ;^( Poor Poor me in the first world. ;^) Well to be honest I did accomplish one thing I wasted some of your time so that's something at least. ;^)

cool project. Roy dose good work for a fair price. How long are the arrows? Looks like you could get a few from a single 32" shaft. Bummer that I missed the big bore 22xx kit days. I'd love to have one in the .30 to .35 range. Might get Roy at mountain airguns to make me a .25 top end at some point. about as close as I can get. I had him make me a custom bolt set for my custom left hand discovery project and very I'm happy with it.
