Diana Find airgun I had as a Teenager

In the late 70s, I bought an airgun that I believe was a Diana. It was sold by a outdoor sporting mail order company that I cannot remember the name but it is out of business. Maybe started with a P. The airgun was rated at 690 fps in 177 although the mail order company mistakenly rated the 22 cal that. I believe it was a fairly common airgun in the states as our local sporting goods store had a 22 cal version. Thinking it was a Diana 27???? I don't think the airgun had the name Diana on it but not sure. Any ideas and pictures.

Well, here's a selection of Diana 27's for you to compare against your memory. :D

Model 27's were made in many variations, for almost 80 years. Dianas sold in the US In the 1970's could also have been branded as Hy-Score, Winchester, Geco, or Gecado. Quite a few of those were in .22.

The 70's were the heyday of the mail-order catalog! The one I remember is Herter's, my first European airgun (a Czech Slavia ZVP pistol) came from there.

Wow!! What an ensemble of Diana 27 variants

Thank you. Definitely looks like it was Winchester 427. The appearance and model year looks right. Now the search begins.
Y'all are much too generous - thank you for the kind words (proof that if you are weird enough, long enough, you can be mistaken for an "expert," LOL...).

JDR...Winchester imported Diana airguns from around 1969 to '75. I believe that all "Winchester 427's" were in .22 cal. Early ones will have a plastic trigger blade, later ones a stronger stamped steel one. All have a simple spot-welded wedge rail for a peep sight or light scope.

If you are open to different markings, the post-war model 27 had quite a few changes over the years, with advantages and disadvantages. PM me and I'll be happy to bore you with those. :D

Danny Garvin's "Vintage Airguns Gallery" site is a fabulous resource for any old airgun. You can peruse the post-war model 27 here:
