N/A First attempt

My first attempt at making a muzzle end. For my Diana 48 177 cal On this attempt I used 1 1/4. inch By 4”: plastic I used a 3/8 drill bit and drill all the way through. Then a 15 mm bit for the barrel and a 18mm for the sleeve that’s over the barrel on a Diana 48 Well I’m not a machinist. But this was a fun and learning. Experience I did this on an old old old worn lathe of my friends. the problem I ran into. The plastic seem to heat up quickly and stick to the bits. The next problem was. I couldn’t, make a taper because of the same trouble plastic would get hot and sticky. I know there are many talented people on here. Any insight would be appreciated. I used 1 1/4 thinking I could turn it down

You should use delrin it doesn't get sticky, not sure what you're using? You want to use sharp tools and fairly fast rpm's, you can use WD40 as a coolant for drilling if you want. Turning doesn't really need any coolant. This material machines easy.
