First deer with the air rifle! 30 yard headshot never flinched a muscle. 80 grain slug put the hurting on him! Just a little buck behind my house that I'm processing myself. Shot with my .30 maverick at over 150 FPE.

Congratulations that's a fine looking eating buck there and the 30cal head shot was the way to go, I've neck shot the last two deer I got they drop in their tracks 1st one was with a Badger 40cal an a 180gr Mr. Hollowpoint slug and the 2nd with my Texan 457 and a 280gr NSA slug.

Yeah he is just a meat deer and I been wanting to shoot one with my air rifle but I didn't want to test out on a bigger deer. Though after this, I have no doubts that with a head/neck shot this rifle is more than capable.

I prefer meat over trophy .. the rack don't feed me to well.. killin off just trophy just declines the better bloodlines anyway.. I'll take a fat tender first year spike on the grill anyday ..
