First deer with an airgun.

Respectable. I've not considered taking Deer with an Air Rifle? I know some states require at least .50 caliber when using black powder.
Just looked it up.

  • Deer and pronghorn: The air rifle must be at least .35 caliber
  • Elk, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and black bear: The air rifle must be at least .45 caliber.

Here in Florida it’s .30 for deer I’ve had great success with the .457 Texan and now this season the xp ranger .45 both work well

My brother and I are hunting late muzzleloader now. We both use a .50 cal with 100 grains behind a 250 grain bullet in a sabot. Wa. state finally allowed optics W/O magnification, we both settled on a Sig Sauer Romeo 5. Brother has a fancy Knight, I've got my cheap Charlie CVA wolf, I would not trade guns with him. The Wolf is light accurate and hits hard. He might have 200 yards range where I'm more 150ish with my shorter barrel. Hunting the coast shots are 50-75 yards. We have till the 15th, taking the day off today.
