N/A First Gun: FX Dynamic vs Umarex Zelos

28" to the end of the barrel or to the end of the bottle? And bottle size?

Did you have to shorten the actual barrel, or just have to cut the shroud? And did it get much louder by doing this?

I would potentially be interested in doing something similar if I find myself wishing for a shorter overall gun later on

They are the compact design by me, the barrel is shortened to 500mm and the shroud is shortened to leave minimal space in the shroud.

There is work being done to match up moderators with OAL of the bottles gun with different bottles.

Shown is a .36l carbon fiber bottle.

Do you know roughly how much of the shroud one could remove without shortening the barrel? I've read about people installing baffles so I assume there must be a couple inches at least

I did install those baffles, I’d say from memory they’re about 3/4 an inch and u put in 4 .
So 3 maybe 31/2 inches.
By the way I didn’t hear much if any differences

1400 CC
I would not like to wield that, but i could probably get behind it at a bench if i put the front of it on a sandbag CUZ i doubt you can finagle a bipod on it.
I simply can not get myself to count a dual bottle setup, if i was to need mobility i would still tether but to a 3 L bottle on my back.

FIY Denmark do not have so think bush that tether entanglement would be a issue.

I totally acknowledge other people do what the hell they like, i would NOT have that any other way.

PS i do see the trigger guard bipod in the picture, but like dual bottles i would not go there.
It also has an extended rail , so a bipod can be mounted anywhere along its length, ( which is not installed on it at the moment) Sandbags: That's how I like to shoot it and it does extremely well. With either slugs or pellets. In its current configuration, I would not want to take it squirrel hunting. But that can all be un-done. Remove the silencer ( which is a shade less than 9 inches) and it becomes much shorter and less cumbersome. Remove the big Optic and fit it with a straight 6x -1 inch tube. Then it becomes much more agile and lighter. The thing is built like a tank and is hair splitting accurate. Well capable of more than 150 shots. on a fill. BUT, I do see your point. There are better options for the OP's wish list. I wouldn't categorize the gun as lightweight but it could be done pretty easily. At least for me.
If shot count is your thing, this is your gun.

Uragans look amazing and I'd love one, but yet again it is another gun/brand that's unavailable in Canada

I've tried two different cups and a baffle stack, 2dB difference. Useless space as far as it goes.

If upper 20s to low 30s fpe is OK I am confident tou can get at least very close to 150 shots from a 400+cc bottle on a M60 or Zellos. The longer barrel of the Zellos would help. My P35-22 is at the reg setting it came with and pushing 21 gr H&N pellets about 820 fps. It doesn't like 18 grain but pushes them significantly faster. It stores less than 250cc of air which gives me about 60 shots. A little less fpe and it would do 75. I think 100+ is safe to assume and 150 is possible if you really want it. That gun is also a couple years old and has not even needed an O-ring.

It also killed a small 8 lb raccoon with a brain shot. 32fpe is plenty for small game.

That is awesome to hear. I'll probably be looking for something around 30fpe give or take a couple depending on what pellet it shoots best. The more shots I can get at that power, the better.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their input. It has been extremely helpful

I have decided to go with the Zelos/M60B platform. It seems more than enough for my needs, and the shorter form factor will be nice to have. I do have a few follow up questions however:

1. Zelos or M60B
Wes has the Zelos in stock where the M60B is a preorder. Is there anything that makes the M60B worth waiting
Foster fitting (zelos) vs a probe(m60b)?
26" barrel vs 24" barrel
Different regulator supposedly?

2. Planning on 2 580cc tanks that I will hot swap. Any forseeable issues here? Each tank should give me a bit over 100 shots around the default regulator setting I think?

3. I see they sell bottle to shroud attachments. Is this necessary for strength? Would accuracy suffer with one? Should I be worried about these longer bottles breaking off if bump the gun into something gently?

4. Any other considerations I should take or things to look for?
