FX First Impressions and Sighting in - FX Panthera HC in .25 caliber

I went to my normal range and they said my membership needed to be renewed, but their system wouldn't be ready for another 2 weeks and it was $25 for the daily fee and my semi-retired shackles went up and I said "I'll wait!" So I went back home and went into the backyard to do some shooting. My personal distance from the shooting site to the target is 26.6 yards, so I have at least a 25 yard sight in distance.

I sighted it in with FX 34gr and the power wheel on 15. I have my "old" FX chrony to measure the speed. It took about 6 shots to get the scope and hists where I wanted and the speed was averaging 665 fps. I then went and got the .25 Hades and shot about 8 and repositioned the scope (Immersive 14 x 50). Groups were respectable at just slightly over a single pellet whole. Speed when up to 721 on the lighter pellets. Then I switched to the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme at 28.24 gr and turned the power wheel up to 20 (last picture). Now speed was up to an avg of 828 and the pellets were almost in the same whole - not the guns fault - and this is where I left the tune for now. When I can renew my range membership, I will take it out to 50 and 100 yards. and tune for the longer distances. The gun shot all the pellets well and I will probably "fine tune" the Hunter Extreme as I think there is a lower count of malformed tails with them than there are with the Hades .

Stock trigger was not bad at all - I will drop the second stage a bit, but not much. This will be a hunting gun so I don't need the featherlight trigger that I like for bench work. As you may have noticed, I have the new DonnyFL Yokozuna on the gun. This gun is LOUD without a moderator! It is backyard friendly now ( 4 magazines and no upset neighbors) and sufficiently quiets down the gun. It has a higher pitch and almost a "ping" to it which I have not gotten use to yet, but certainly doesn't disturb the potential pests as I had a squirrel watching me on the back fence (10 feet away) for 2 magazines and it took me to get up to scare it off!

Build quality is as you would expect from an FX. I have the small front tank on the front and at 120 bar on the regulator, I think I could easily get 50-60 shots before a tank fill at this power level . I think the power at this level is good for most of the game I hunt especially at the 50 yard and under distance. It and the EVOL 15 will be the new hunting favorites for long walking hunts! Once I get to shoot it at 50 yards, I may do a bit more tuning which I have to say is very easy with the power wheel. The BOG deathgrip works well for the "stock" Hunter Compact, but I use the Primos trigger stick when hunting and have not yet shot it on that tripod. Maybe put the bottle on the back and the optional rail on the front... the jury is still out,
