N/A First longer distance attempt with pcp - 144m / 157y.

Funny, I did receive some of both. H&N 21.14gr and JTS 18.13gr.
I did not try it yet as now at 5:30 in the afternoon it is 32 deg. Celsius (90 deg Fahrenheit) and humidity in the high 70%. It was about 34 deg C earlier. Just going outside for 5 minutes and I am sweating like a pig. I do this for enjoyment and don't want to punish myself by walking 400 meters back and forth to the targets as I cannot walk in a straight line to it. I have camps for the horses and zebras I have to walk through. The wind is not to strong and would otherwise be a good day for shooting.
You through me in for a loop there mentioning zebras lol. I thought you were in the states. I wish I had some of that warmth right now.

Not only can you reach out to that distance. You know what NOT to shoot at that distance.
Excellent, intelligent Shooting. Glad you made that choice
Mike
Thanks.
When I was as little boy I was taught to eat what I shoot unless it was pests. If I wounded something I had to look for it until I found it. So the best was to make 100% sure it was a clean kill.

You could also try the heavier 21gr barracudas, some of the new jts pellets
I did try the JTS 18 today. First I checked the head size and they are very consistent, all at 5.55mm. I did not even wanted to shoot it as I was sure it will act the same as the JSB 5.54mm which don't want to shoot accurate. But, I have it, why not give it a try. First shots at 50 meter with the scope as zeroed for H&N. 3 shots, low and right but a good grouping. Without adjusting the zero I immediately dialed for 100 meter the same as I would for H&N and aimed at the X top left, assuming the POI will be low-right. Here is 5 shots at 100 meter, not to bad:

That's fantastic for pellets! How fast were they moving?

Through the scope I could still see the target quite well, so I don't know. I think this is about the limit for this rifle with pellets. That does not mean I will not keep on trying when there is no wind, I might just get a lucky group that might not be easily repeatable.

What I did not mention before is that the pellets was sorted by head size. Next time I will sort by head size as well as weight to see if that helps. As I see it, sorting pellets does not make the main group smaller but helps reducing the flyers.
add the roll test to sort the best (most even) pellets . easy to do .

I never did that. How ?
You Tube is your friend 😎 IT is easy to build , piece of glass (cheap mirror ) . tape to make a L shape 90degrees on the glass . usually 6 or 8 inches a side . tilt the glass a small amount. mark a start point to place the head of the pellet , let the pellet roll to a place on the bottom tape and mark that . (you will have several "landing" marks . just pick out the pellets that land in the same place to shoot a target . this assures the all the pellets FOR THAT TARGET are the same head and skirt size . It does not matter what that size is ,just that all pellets are the same .
Some people like this (ME ) and some people say no . edit layer the tape to a thickness that will stop a rolled pellet

I might try it. I know for a fact that with the H&N Baracuda 18 pellets the head is oval shape. They still shoot good.
