This is the first look at DNT's stand alone thermal. This unit is a thermal only with some great features for those that don't want all the bells and whistles the ThermNight or Zulus offers.
Hydra
It's compact size and weight allows it to be used as a handheld Monocular with a weight of 16oz with battery. Next throw in the supplied 0moa mount on and use it as a standalone thermal scope for just around 20oz. The last great feature is its extended eye relief of 65mm which means it can be switched to clip on mode and placed infront of a low power optic like a lpvo or a lower power prismatic scope. Only downside is you will need a full rail in front of your Optics for it to mount to.
There are currently 3 versions available the HS225 which is the Hydra 256x192 with a 25mm lens, next is the HS325 which is the Hydra 384x288 with a 25mm lens, last is the HS635 which is the Hydra 640x512 with a 35mm lens. Below are the specs but be sure to check out the website to get more information.
With the launch of this line we have introduced an amazing feature and my favorite which is called SuperResolution. When this is active it makes the biggest improvements on the 256 version while it's active it essentially turns that 256 into a 384. The SuperResolution doesn't show a huge image boost at base magnification BUT where it shines is through the magnification levels. Normally a thermal will get very pixilated in the magnification levels until you turn on this awesome new feature. In that same video you will see the Hydra 640 at 6x magnification and the huge improvement SuperResolution does to the image once activated.
Just like all our other digital scopes it will record audio and video. It has an easy to learn button layout and easy to use menu system. Short press of power enters standby mode, short press of the magnification button will zoom while a long press will change the thermal color pallets, next is the middle/menu button with a short press that will change the screen brightness while a long press will enter the menu, last is the bottom button and a short press will change thermal modes for different environments which will be displayed as enhance mode, highlight mode, and normal mode and a long press will begin your recording.
These will be arriving soon so make sure you cheeck them out. Bang for buck these are going to be awesome. You can still use the brawler10 code for 10% off. Looking forward to seeing what everyone thinks. As always reach out if you have any questions or need any help.
