N/A First PCP - FX Impact M4 or Skout EVO?

I am new to the airgun world and I am looking into benchrest and then possibly PMC/PRS. I am pulling my hair out trying to decide on a proper gun. I keep going back and forth between the FX Impact M4 and the Skout Evo. Adding in more complexity is caliber..... From what I have seen looking at NAC and RMAC, .30 cal is the popular choice, but I have also seen good results with .22. I seek the wisdom and advice of those with MUCH more experience that I have to your recommendations. I am not going to be using this for hunting, just target/competition.

I have had epoch and have an impact now. For hunting. Got rid of epoch because I have lost the desire to try 100yd bench. The impact is 25. 500mm for hunting and eft. I personally think the skout is a better design and easier to work on and tune than an impact. If I where to get serious about bench rest it would be a raw or go all out for a Thomas hpx but just my opinion because I have never done it or plan to. I'm more into simpler guns

Why neither? I am genuinely curios.
Skout is pretty new still and support is iffy from what I've read here. I haven't followed them in awhile so I don't know if that's got better or not. FX tend to have little quirks andissues, but more forum support and customer support and parts availability. Upgrades aplenty.

Personally both are far more expensive than I need. I have guns that are a 3rd the price that do anything I need. I had a huntsman revere and it was amazing, but I didn't love it because I couldn't customize it, nor would I.

This is also going to be your first pcp, and you're diving into expensive guns right out the gate that are known to need tuning/tweaking etc.

That is NOT correct .... The folks behind Skout have near 40 years under there belt making tournament quality paintball guns and are USA based, not 1/2 way around the world. There support blows FX out of the water in spades ! parts are NOT a problem or is talking with someone who knows the products and willing to help on the spot.

Good to know. I knew they made paintball stuff but they haven't been in the pellet airgun game for long, right?

I can say I don't see much on them really, but I don't think I've seen anything negative about them.

Air guns in the public eye and in hands of users started with the release of EPOCH at the @ start of 2023 .... making an EPIC 2 years of innovation and beyond first class customer & product support.

I'm also a beginner. I played with a break-barrel airgun for a year and recently ordered an Impact Standard version in .25 caliber. For me, it was essential to get a high-quality gun right away; otherwise, I might have just bought an entry-level Chinese gun for around $300. Once you're sure you want to continue with this hobby, it makes sense to invest in the best equipment. Currently, FX has a large user base, which makes it easier to find compatible parts and benefit from others' experiences.

MY take of both, I hear nothing but moans about FX it seems their failure rate is pretty high, and the Scout seems to have some of the best support and customer service going and this is in the UK, so IMO FX is for people who like to continually fiddle with their guns and have to buy add-ons to make them shoot well and Scout are for people who just want to shoot.

I agree with what you said. I also have a break barrel and it shoots well. I don't mind spending money on a high quality rifle (within reason). I don't want to buy a less expensive rifle to only regret it later and have to spend even more when I should have just bought the one I wanted to begin with, hence the reason why I was asking about the two initially.

Sounds like Skout might be the better option for me here then.
