First squirrel with the rx2

Beautiful morning to be in the woods, took the rx2- 22 cal out for a short hunt this morning and was rewarded with its first squirrel.

I don't like grits but squirrel and biscuits with gravy is very good.

My favorite way to fix squirrels is to put them in a pressure cooker for an hour. The meat will be falling off the bone. I dip it in bbq sauce as I eat each tasty piece.

Wife was brought up to think rabies and tree rats , the only difference is it is a RAT with a bushy tail period !!!!

Prefer to let them marinate in a sealed ziplock for a week in the fridge and brown them in a skillet with butter or bacon grease. Salt and pepper or whatever seasoning you prefer, with a coating of flour or cornmeal . After browned, place in the oven at 380 degrees for about 30 minutes, delicious

At the landing / camp we just salt pepper flour up and deep fry in a fish cooker .. most times was a hogepoge of whatever small game gathered up from the group that day..

My dad used to pressure cook big red squirrels and make redeye gravy(I think that's what he called it) with them and some homemade biscuits that made for a good meal after being in the woods all day.
