I have a BRK Ghost Plus (Blaze) .22 incoming in the next couple of days from AoA. This will be the most I've paid for an airgun.. ..ever. I have owned several that were close to that price point and have a high regard for all things Daystate/BRK so I expect a very high quality experience. Several have indicated I will.
I've never asked this question before, so here goes.... my purpose by the way is hunting tree squirrels, mostly grey here in KY. Oh, if a squirrel notices the blaze color I will flap my hand and bark hoping the beast will think me a squirrel,
What should I do before shooting the air rifle?
Should I be watching reg pressure and bottle pressure? I will check both before shooting and I'll top off with my GX 3-i compressor if necessary.
I'm hoping to shoot it without a moderator but I have a DFL RYU that I'll sill try out (.25) to see if it makes a difference.
If I have indicated any thing that is ill-advised or that I should also do, I'd appreciate the input.
Thanks

- I know with rimfires I clean the barrel and bolt to make sure no gunk build up.
- Once I begin shooting I'll sight in scope. The scope will likely be a Nikon Pro with AO (out of production - I have 3).
- Then I'll try 2-3 different pellets that I have on hand; JSB and Hades to see if one groups better than another. I'll do this first at 25. yards and then 50.
