Amazon and gxpumpofficial.com both list the CS4 as "Out Of Stock". Also, the lowest price, with the gxpumpofficial discount was $504 shipped.

I bought mine before that low, at $513 shipped.

Now, they are listed on Amazon and GXPUMPOFFICIAL.com at $649, but out of stock both places.

I would never have pulled the trigger at that price. So if you can get along with what you have for a while, just wait.

The price WILL go down again. So, if you have air now and a little patience, you may get an even better deal than most. (smile)

I did lots and lots of research looking for a reliable unit with a good repair history and almost pulled the trigger a number of times on units costing anywhere from $1000 to $3500 - think Daystate. But I would inevitably read where these highly reputable compressors would have problems early on for the buyer. I did not want to spend $4100 on a compressor but for those of us who are not as mechanically inclined as others and not wanting to go through the frustration of waiting on repairs I went with the low risk option and got the Alkin 31V in 220v. While the unit is costly, I do not have one bit of cognitive dissonance after purchasing this unit whatsoever as the quality, workmanship and customer service are all outstanding. Customer service from Farren at the New Jersey location is top notch - he responds very, very quickly.

There are many camps, on this one. For a new shooter with close access to someone who can fill a dive tank, or HP tank, I would say go that way. Alkin owners love their machines. I might have bought one but the distributor at the time I was looking had many issues. No one knew if they were even in business? What? I went with a Coltri MCH-6. That was a decade ago. It runs every time I need it. Only yearly oil changes, thus far.

For $250 plus another $175 for media/coalescent filters, they can pry my Young Heng from my cold greasy fingers. I wanted a backup for slow boat parts if needed so I got the $289 GX-CS2 for gun only fills.

So far, not working well. Mis-drilled fitting, rust in fill lines, hole worn in black center piston cap and sent with dirty water tampon installed. Working with seller now so always back to amazon if not happy with solution. So far I was offered a new hose, I declined and asked where might be the plastic pieces from the center plug? If I keep unit, a 12" media water filter will be a must, so another $70. Coalescent filter will not work on these low flow critters. This was not a used model, same issues noted on other post.

If you get a big airtank and you're patient, you could get by with a GX CS2 together with a little timing circuit, to keep the temperature low.

It's what I do -- I have two big airtanks and the CS2.

I mostly shoot .22 but occasionally I consume a lot of air. I use one of my compressed air tanks to dust my house. Mostly just the stairs.

You DUST??? I have a maid for that. Errmmm... I mean a wife. Similar, but much more expensive! :)

I know others have stated this, but HPA is expensive. It is the number one cost in this hobby. There is no free lunch. The inexpensive compressors are a waste of money. I have a Bauer. Buy once, cry once. It is also important to note that your HPA cost is more than just your compressor. You also have to fund storage tanks, fittings, hoses, valves, gauges, sealing washers and "O" rings. It all adds up to a lot of money, much more than the guns!
