First time air gun owner what is the best compressor

Why does it look just like the daystate one? Do they copy each other?
Daystate just is a rebranded Coltri at a higher price than the comparable Coltri model. I'd strongly advise anyone considering a Daystate to buy a Coltri instead. The Coltri MCH-6 is the best model from this company makes for divers and air gunners.

The absolute best compressor is the one that somebody else owns and maintains. Because they can be quite frustrating and costly. Most people will have a dive shop, paintball shop, fire station, etc within a reasonable driving distance of them that they can pay to get a fill-up. A bonus is that these places will assuredly provide the highest level of clean and dry air...something quite hard to do at home with cheaper compressors unless shelling out quite a bit more money, and also requiring even more maintenance. So my advice to most people getting into PCPs is to invest in a quality tank that can be filled and will last for many years with zero maintenance before testing is needed to maintain compliance.

I understand not everyone will have such a fill station within driving distance, but you might be surprised if you take the time to search. I live in a rural area and have no less than three fill stations within 45 minutes of my house, one as close as 20 mins. $10 to fill my 60 minute SCBA. And then I get to simply walk away with my clean 4500lb air while somebody else gets to worry about the maintenance. Nothing comes close to beating that cost of compressed air. I would still use this method even if it were a three hour drive. I would probably just buy an extra tank.

My dive shop is only 20 minute's away. There the convivence ends depending if they are busy, having to leave the tank and / or hydro time! One good large 4.5 tank cost big bucks as do high end compressors, no? Me, I like a little maintenance so I have had good experience using 3k tanks and cheap compressor with filters for direct fill.
Others swear by 7.5k nitrogen tank rental set ups, nothing dryer! My springer and old 397 pump snicker at me as i scurry past...

There are many compressors out there and after doing the on line research i initially opted for the GX-E-CS3-1 compressor because it had good reviews......and despite the positive reviews, it has been nothing but trouble. I have accomplished the suggested trouble shooting as well as replacing all suspect parts to make it work as it did in the beginning and to no avail. I wish that i had decided to go ahead and spend the extra money to get a more reliable compressor instead of throwing my money away.
I now have the Hill EC 3000 EVO on order and hopefully this will solve my compressor problems.

I agree, this is the one I have. It’s not super fast but is built very well. It operates with one piston and a large lower RPM motor, and it is quite enough that I don’t need hearing protection when it operates.
Another vote for the Omega Air Charger. I have had mine for five years now. Great compressor.

This unit was fast to fill a bottle.
My 10 minute away dive shops gear.
