Diana Fitting a breech seal

I guess it's a take off if too tall or shim up if not .

Here's a blog I guess you already found it by now

https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2008/04/shimming-a-diana-breech-seal/

I guess the oring is a 8x2.5mm s70? If you can find 8.5x 3 may save shimming .

Also you may try flyingdragon and ask Mike if he has the orings and shims on the ready to sell and ship . Maybe sold in a 5 pack ??

Pop Mike a email on the orings and shims .

Some have shim washers under the seal. Some don't. Pull the seal and determine if there is anything under it before you put the new one in.

I like them standing proud of the pivot block a lot. They flatten out fast and as long as you aren't pinching the edges of the seal when you close the barrel you are good.

If it sticks up too far stretch it (a little) over a wood dowel and use a sanding block to work material off the back side. If it sits low shim it up.

I use a drop of UV doming resin on the back of a seal to make shims. Just lay the resin on the rear surface of the seal and flash the light. You have a perfect shim washer. You can make them any thickness you want and it takes 10 seconds to do it. Perfect shim washers every time without having to punch out concentric circles or wrap dental floss.
