Taipan Five years on...

Five years on, and I'm still quite smitten with the OG Taipan Veterans! 🤩🤩🤩

I bought my first one five years ago; a Long in .22 caliber, and although I have changed my preferences a bit in regards to size and caliber, I still love the platform. These two are both .25 caliber CZ barrels. The Standard is tuned to 45 FPE with the King Heavy, and the Short is tuned to 25 FPE with the regular weight King.

Granted I've never owned other PCPs yet and maybe I'm being a bit too narrow minded but I've really seriously considered other PCPs to buy and came very close to pulling the trigger on a few of them. Learning and researching about other guns is continuous. I just haven't found another one yet that suits me as well as the Taipan Veterans. Or maybe I'm just way too picky as well. 😅😅😅

I know that feeling well. I only own 3 guns of the same platform (FX Royale breech block) & 7 years down the road I get the same joy & amazement. I've always wanted a Taipan because I know they're one of the great SOOB (straight out of box) guns out there. While others are busy "chasing the Unicorn" we've found what really works for us!

The day they release a rifle version for sale in canuckistan. I’ll be on the buy now list. Until then I can only drool over the pics and stories. The closest I can get to dead simple and reliable as the day is long. The Rapid MK2 and I finally got my grubby hands on one just in the last few months. In you bet .25 caliber.

I think it it is a testament to the quality of Taipans that you still feel the way you do about them. Good quality does not diminish with time. Your post is timely, because there really is no need to ”chase” once you have found what works for you… I feel the same as you and @Gerry52, my current stable of the same brand serves all my PCP needs…🙏

I'm there with you. After many guns over the years, I'm back to Taipans and not going anywhere. Just got another one in yesterday. On my search for a 20fpe .177 I actually got an offer on a Mutant short .22. I couldn't pass up the deal and happy to get one to replace my Vet Short I sold to my brother in law

Know what you mean, Shroom!
Going on 7 years since my first taste of sweet Taipan nectar.
Down to 'just' three shorties - two in .22 and one in .25 and they're not going anywhere!
Here's a post from 2018 when I received my 1st Vet.
