Fixing Revere stock creep

Hey everyone,

SO this is actually my first airgun, the Huntsman Revere in 25. GOt the demo one from AOA. So far, its just a lovely piece, but anyways, I was feeling a little stock movement specifically near the front of the gun under the air tube. THe other areas feel solid, but there's a little creep in that front part of the stock. You can rock it and you would feel it move ever so slightly up and down. I'd turned the hex screw in front of the trigger as far as it would go, but it still creeps. Is this normal? Anybody got a solution for this?

Thanks

Disregard it and shoot. Most air rifle designs provide ample inletting for the action, and there may be slight movement if tested. But, it is not under any binding stress, which is a common problem in firearms. Unless it is loose enough to move when fired, it should be fine. And if that large hex head action screw is good and snug, it won't move.

Not to stress your OCD side, but here is food for thought. That gap in front is not a tolerance "issue", it is there by design. If you notice, you will probably see that the sides of the action at top are not contacting the stock either. As an organic material, wood moves with moisture content. so less contact means less potential for swelling wood to create stresses. It's the same concept as free floating a rifle barrel. Since the air rifle barrel is far removed from the stock, there is no issue there, but I would be inclined to leave it alone.
